Like Blockbuster, Netflix.com has set up numerous distribution points across the USA to speed the deliver times up.  Depending on where you live you can see movies in as fast as one day even though the average is two postal days. Netflix has the technology that recommends movies based off of other movies you rented.  Sometimes the recommendations have a common actor or actress in them or a similar theme.  However Netfilx matches it up it seems to work well.  People that know of one specific movie they want to rent but struggle with the 2nd or 3rd movie this helps them make there selection. Netflix was recently voted #18 in the "25 Sites We Can't Live Without" according to TIME Magazine. It's no wonder why their are the top of their game for online dvd rental offers.

Another feature about Netflix is the fact they have the high quality Blu-ray DVDs available to rent. Blu-ray is becoming more and more the standard dvd and will soon replace the basic.

The single most important thing to know about Blockbuster Online is how fast you get your DVD rentals.  Blockbuster has set up numerous distribution points throughout the country to accomplish this faster.  Movies are usually delivered within two postal days.  Often families that rent games or DVD's online plan out there weekend this way.  Order the movies on Tuesday or Wednesday and they arrive in time for the weekend.

Blockbuster makes it very easy if you want to rent online they will also allow you to return the movies to the store.  Some people enjoy this since all of a sudden there's nothing on TV so they take the movie they just watched and exchange it for a new one.  This is a new option that many people seem to like, even if they don't use it. Blockbuster video has quickly become a leader in the dvd movie rental business.

Blockbuster Online or Netflix?    

Renting DVD's through the mail is the easiest way to get movies online.  There are several problems with going to the local movie store to rent dvd's.

Roku is a small devices that attaches to your TV set that allows you to download / view over 12,000 movies and TV episodes instantly. Plus Netflix has a streaming video agreement with Microsoft and the Xbox 360 that will allow content to be delivered through this device as well. In the future downloading movies straight to your TV will be huge. Currently Netflix doesn't offer HD (720p and 1080p) movies available for download.
