I'm really glad DC won. I will definitely buy a CD of his songs, but I would not buy one of Archy. Nothing against Archy as a person, I just thought all his songs sounded alike. He does have a nice voice, just not much variation to it.

I agree he never showed any versatility..Cook was always up for the challenge!!

I am just thrilled!!! I feel bad for DA b/c he is so young he is probably heart broken, but American (and AI) got it right!!

I just want to congratulate David Cook. I've always wanted to see a rocker win this thing. My dreams have finally come true tonight! He will make a great American Idol.

Although I did recognize that DA did have a good voice, he irritated the heck out of me. I am very pleased with this outcome. BUT, I also feel a little bad for him, because after all the praise from last night, it must have seemed like a foregone conclusion to him. How could someone so young have ever not fallen into the trap of believing everything they said? After all, the great Simon Cowell virtually handed him the prize last night. He must have been very surprised and disappointed. Oh well, I'm only a little sad for him. I've very, very happpy for DC.
