AI a victim of having singers that are TOO GOOD?

This article talks about the decline in AI ratings. They seem to think this season is down due to a lack of Sanjambalaya like 'characters'. I do disagree. I think part of it is that the producers showed their favorites right off the bat. There was almost endless pimping of Syesha and Archy in the early stages, and see where they ended up. Also, though the talent was pretty good this season, there really haven't been a whole lot of "WOW" moments. Each performer has, for the most part, been pretty consistent and bland. But no real major "WOW" moments.

David Cook is the only one who has wowed me continually this year...

I know they kept telling us that this season's talent was so good, but I totally don't believe it. Archy was good from the outset, but boring as all get out, with no charm or charisma, and really there was no evolution throughout the season.

David Cook was my favourite from the start, and he's been consistent and fun to watch to see how he'd put his spin on things, but after that, there really wasn't that much talent.

I loved Chickezee, but he blew it with his song choices. I think Carly was good, but the audience would never vote a non-American to win American Idol, and her tattoos were a little too much for the audience to ignore or accept.

I think that the audience basically feels like I do - this season just wasn't exciting. No real stars (except DC) and nothing particularly interesting. Not too much talent, to much mediocre!

Pickles picked my arse. I couldn't handle her. No more pickles pls. I would use my exclamation key but I wore it out and it's broken.

I notice you praise the Beatles song -- I was annoyed but not surprised when I tuned in to the finals and Archuleta's rendering of 'Imagine' had the line 'no religion too' cut out. Typical US TV blandness.

I still think Michael Johns got a bad deal. He was actually one of the better singers this season. I also think he has star appeal. I've heard some of his old stuff on YouTube finally. AI definately blew it with him.

Hopefully he will make it the business I would never count him out! Jon (my boy) liked Carly the best and I told him we will see more of her too.....Michael Johns was one of his favorites as well but he has always been a DC fan 1st and foremost!
