Be Professional
After watching idol tonight, I felt that all of the judges along with Ryan Seacrest, showed moments of unprofessional character. Randy, Paula, and Ryan should allow Simon to express his view without interruption, sarcasm, or negative responses. Simon rarely interrupts their comments on a performance, so the same respect should be given to him as well. Although Simon can be a bit cruel at times, with the truth, he should be able to express his viewpoint without premature responses. But, Simon also allows his peers to get under his skin and he makes comments back to them that are unprofessional. Bottom line: Be Professional on Camera...

This has been going on for a long time now. Hard to believe they are good friends in real life.

Simon's next book could be called 'Let Me Finish.'
I don't mind a little banter among the judges. If I want professional I will watch the republican debates held in the national library.
If I want entertainment I will watch ai.

I don't mind the banter between Simon and Ryan. At least its usually witty. It's the incoherent babble from Paula that I can't bear to watch.

Paula is just hard to watch, period! She cannot manage to speak the King's English. It's all the drugs and booze and mood stablizers and.................

Each one of them has a role to play on the show, and it's a formula that the ratings suggest works. Randy is the exuberant one, Paula is the fluff job, Simon is the caustic realist, Ryan is basically the role of Simon's foil.
Yes, Simon's British upbringing probably mandates that he be less ostentatious. It's a good counterpoint to Randy's exuberance and Paula's lush, at-times-barely-coherent rambling. Simon is short and to the point, which is why they have him speak last.
You know what they say - The only reason anything is on the screen is because people want to see it. Yeah, some of the interchanges make me uncomfortable, but I doubt as many would tune in to watch an Emily Post-approved version of AI.
