did you know that from the time Guy was declared winner - the next Monday he put out a single Angels Brought Me Here - and it sold out by Tuesday so they pressed some more - enough to sell before the album went on sale on 8 December (he was declared winner around 23 November 2003).
He flew to the UK for the World Idol Comp, he flew back again for the Melbourne Carols, he flew back to the UK for the finals, he flew back again for rehearsals for the Idol Concert (which was huge - played in entertainment centres everywhere). By the time the Idol concert started on 27 January 2004 his 2nd single was out, ANgels Brought Me Here had gone No. 1 in Malaysia, by March he'd travelled and appeared on the MTV in Asia, gone in concert with Gareth Gates, appeared on numerous Idol shows in Phillipines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore - Angels had gone no 1 everywhere, including New Zealand, he flew over to New zealand to judge there and meet and sing, he had 3 major tracks On Paradise Live :Adore" album (but not on the accompanying dvd - BMG contract didnt allow that - but he could sing with his church).
He did part of the track on Guilty for Human Nature, he managed to sing on American Idol but actually had to leave the US to get the work visa and managed to get back with 2 hours to spare, and that was taken cutting Angels down to a smaller size version (which is why he was pretty nervous after all that).
In the meantime he was also writing with Brian McKnight, Robin Thicke, in Copenhagen - fr instance he was given 8 bars of music, took it apart, reworked, and finally 77 tracks were winging their way to Copenhagen - took 4 hours!!! (to send I mean)
AND then he came back to launch Out With My Baby and Beautiful Life album, and get ready for his HUGE beautiful life tour - which I might add - was announced and advertised with 4 WEEKS TO GO TO THE LAUNCH OF THE INAUGURAL CONCERT!!!!
How Guy managed to keep upright throughout all this and stay the same ordinary down to earth guy with a wicked sense of humour - it beats me! But he did, and he was incredible, and he keeps evolving and lifting almost every performance.
I've NEVER seen anything like it - and I've been to many, many shows.
And THAT'S why we love him.
And he's still having fun with his fans....
Ask me about the black singlet some time LOL.
