That guy Aaron Walpole is very good! American Idol should have more of
contestants like the 2 in the videos, singing classics from yesterday, and not screaming their way thru a song which generally is short on melody. The Blacks love to sing songs like that...too much screaming. It is unfortunate that they don't go for soft, slow ballads that made their brothers international superstars in the past, eg, Nat King Cole, Platters,
Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie. And the Whites are aping them to a great extent. I am not from America. But I grew up on American music from the golden age of pop...the 50's, 60's and 70's. And I listen mainly to songs from this era cos the songs are really melodious and soothing, eg, "When A Man Loves A Woman", "Sound Of Silence", "Pretty Woman". Too bad they don't compose songs like that anymore.

You must be old.

Actually, screaming is a very important part of Rock music. I love to hear Robert Plant's screaming in alot of the Led Zeppelin songs, most notably, "The Immigrant Song", as well as Roger Daltrey screaming, "Yeah!!!!!!!!!!" at the end of "Won't Get Fooled Again".

Brian Young of AC/DC is another one of my favorite screamers. Chris Cornell also. Screaming in music, is an art. Not everyone can do it. Some try, and fail miserably.

Mister J got me thinkin' about Soundgarden earlier. Here's one of my favorite songs of theirs. Chris Cornell screams wonderfully in this one.
