Simon on 60 Minutes/What is He Doing?

This Sunday nite Simon will be profiled by Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes. He will discuss the criticism he’s received from the music industry, his wealth and value to Sony/BMG, the recording company he works for, and the appeal of AI.

Simon actually has the tables turned on him when a group of judges critique him doing something he is passionate about. I wonder what it is? Does anyone know?

He says he doesn't have any hobbies other than making millions and that he never wants marriage/kids. I haven't read anything personal on any hobbies/passions/sports or anything, so I have no idea what it is.

I've read (somewhere - maybe one of my AI Magazines) that he owns fancy cars and likes to go riding in them.

I received an email that my next issue (AI the Magazine) has been mailed. Can't wait to get it!

I wonder if it's the Africa ("Idol gives back") thing? It sorta looked like he was trying to look almost human during the clips they ran about it last week. Simon as a media suck-up? Nawwww!

I just read that he talks about Springsteen too.

(CBS) "American Idol" judge and music executive Simon Cowell says he's worth five times more to his record label Sony BMG than its big recording artist Bruce Springsteen....

"I sell more records than Bruce Springsteen," Cowell says of the rock star who signed a contract with Sony BMG, reported to be in the neighborhood of $100 million. "In the last five years, I've probably sold over 100 million records. If [Springsteen] got 100 [million dollars], I should have got 500," he tells Cooper.

How does he sell 100 million records? "By doing 'Idol'…I signed the biggest artist on the planet and it's called 'Idol' because every single 'Idol' winner is now signed through Sony BMG," says Cowell. "And this applies to…all the countries…we sell 'Idol' to, which is over 30 countries," he says....
