As soon as I heard her starting to sing that, I was praying for her to be voted off. She p!ssed off half of America doing that. BIG mistake!
The sad thing is she was kind of cute and fairly talented. IF she would have sang a Shakira song, she probably would have been allright. But NOOOOO. She just had to sing her stupid song. Good riddance.
But don't you agree about her singing a Shakira song? She even looks like her. And since we haven't heard from Shakira in a while, it would have been perfect! I liked her and thought she was cute/talented. But singing that song was the kiss of death.
I voted for Alaina. I wanted so bad for Antonella to go before her - just because. She is not a GREAT singer, but I liked her bubbly personality. I kind of expected her to be one to leave - that's why I tried - I gave her 85 votes. They didn't help.......

Just because she kinda resembled Shakira, doesn't mean she can sing like her. I didn't see any evidence of her sounding anything like Shakira. Anyway, I don't think it would've made a difference. Her voice is too weak, and she was probably not going to make it far anyway. I still felt bad for her because she is a sweet girl, and I really hated for her to have to sing after she lost.
I seriously doubt even a micron of America knew, cared or remembered about the Dixie Chicks remarks and that it had any bearing on Alaina's final outcome...
