I thought that she was an amazing vocalist as well!!!!!! She was so humble too!!!

She was more shy than humble. But yeah she was good.

Her huge voice was a big surprise. I almost expected her to sing like that shy "Hooks" cop in Police Academy.

The stylists will make her over, she'll get more confident, and do very well.

This is true, Katharine got MUCH better looking after she was "made-up"

But I could tell early on that she did have a lot to work with, so I'm not taking anything away from her....

But still can't bring myself to like her.

Melinda though, I liked her.

I have a terrible time with Melinda's name I called her Melody, Melanie, I have to remember it's Melinda!!!! I really liked her also!!!!

I like Melinda!!

Powerful voice with quite a big range. Different from the rest.

Can see that the judges were quite impressed.

Simon said that Melinda is amongst the top 1- 2% with a brilliant voice! Woohoo!

I agree.... she should make the final 12. Her talent has a good deal to do with it, but even super talented people can get booted early if they're overly egotistic - that just turns off the voting public. Yes this is a singing competition, but if people think you're an arrogant donkey then it decreases your voting public.

All that being said... with Melinda's awesome pipes and her humility, she should go far. (Of course I've seen more than one of them go psycho in Hollywood, so we'll see....)

I think she'll do fine she seems to be well grounded!!!
