He's also been declared a 'legend' now. Its all happening...
Well, Guy Sebastian was back in Melbourne Carols this year - hasn't been there for quite a few years - I think his last may have been 2005 (he performed 2003, 2005 the last time with his three brothers)
As one can see by the twitters, as he was the headline and final act, it was a long wait for his fans in the rain and on TV, but they hung on and the CHEEEEEERS as they finally announced him, and after he'd sung, were fab.to see and hear.
I remember Ray Martin, who hosted the Christmas Carols at the Myer Bowl for years, used to say to Guy "don't let them see you until I've announced you because the cheers mean they can't hear what I say!" So thats why he has the drummers come on after the announcement and then he comes on. Even used to have problems of this sort at the rehearsals (Guy has a large group of fans, who are usually able to get to the rehearsals (see the twitters again)
He sang The Drummer Boy and John Lennon's When the War is Over, and brought a different vibe to both - they are both on youtube but as they tend to have a lag between the video and audio, a bit disappointing. One of Guy's big fans put them up very quickly, and has tried again but the lag is still there. If one wants to see / hear, probably better vids are on
In order of appearance, Anthony, Ricki Lee and Nathan, Carl Risely and Paulini all were fabulous, wonderful performances and I'm sure they would be on youtube. Paulini put in probably one of her best of her later performances, although I got a shock when I saw what appears to be a lip piercing!! Just didn't expect that of miss Paulini, but well worth a look.
For those determined to see Guy from last night, there's this one
- there it is, but as you can see the audio/video is way off
its all happening in Guy-land, notice Guy has twittered to Jordin that he will see her in the next decade - word is that he may not return to live in New York but perhaps LA. I guess it will all depend how everything unrolls. Atm he's on holiday with Jules - this being the only time he really takes time to have a break.
