Here's a little reminder that I'd put on here ages and ages ago

It was actually a time when I had a couple of days off and I was like, "oh I do not want to play this conference up at the Central Coast." But it was a Sony conference and it just turned out that I went in the end and there was this guy Johnny Gracia who's like the head of Sony worldwide or something. Some special section.

He said after I performed, he said to the company "I want to take that guy to
America". And he actually followed through....

and Steve Cropper in an interview on allmemphismusic.com when they were running a 'special' on Guy (had another one, the other night )

"I just recently came back from New York and played for the executives of Sony Music...... and we went out and did a little showcase last Tuesday. We played for the executives of Sony. They were totally overwhelmed. And we’re just waiting by the phone. To see when they’re going to call and say “Ok we’re going to release the record in the States”."

Inlay printing factory
raided in Georgetown

Officers from the Ministry of Domestic
Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA)
raided an unlicensed printing press in
Georgetown, Penang on 10th November.
MDTCA officers from the Penang District,
led by their Deputy Director of
Enforcement Puan Norashikin, gained
forcible entry to an unlicensed inlay
printing factory operated by two Malaysian
Chinese and two Myanmar technicians.
2,000 finished inlays packed for
distribution for Guy Sebastian and Julio Iglesias titles
were found on site together with 20,000
inlay transparencies for audio titles of
both international and Chinese repertoire.
Catalogues with album covers for
hundreds of albums were found in another
area of the factory.

While officers were raiding the premises,
several car-loads of Chinese males arrived
at the scene armed with knives and
choppers verbally threatening government
and industry representatives on site and
demanding entry to the factory. Officers
called for Royal Malaysia Police back-up
which arrived within minutes, however the
would-be assailants had fled in the interim.
No persons were injured in the
confrontation. Police posted an overnight
guard on the property and provided a
subsequent armed escort of the exhibits to
a secure MDTCA storage facility in a
neighbouring state.

Hope that Guy performs this song that he did at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo at the beginning of Jan 2009. Such strong and clear vocals and so powerfully projected all over the Zoo which is a huge complex!

That's it.... He was originally scheduled to return near the end of this year however, things are hotting up and his schedule is being almost continually re-drawn - with the latest, overtaking the end of the year.

So, any followers of Steve and Duck are saying ??

Just a reminder
Guy got that US contract due to a performance of his in late 2007 during the Vanguard gigs. Anyone who hasn't seen and heard him, give a shrug to the biased remarks of others.

You can take it from me, he IS, as a critic remarked who finally saw him at The Bridge Hotel Sydney last year, "a genuine, rare talent" - just trust Steve and Duck and the others, he's up there with them. They're not choosing to align themselves with an also ran.

So very very exciting!
