Guy Sebastian - NEXT up...incl. wife Jules
The big excitement, after the sold out tour which just finished, is that Jules Sebastian, Guy's wife, will be host of "Style Me" which is on MTV Tonight STYLE ME PREVIEW 9.25 - 9.40pm July 3rd. Unfortunately, I don't have MTV, so wish I did.
The WHO magazine has run an article on it, sounds quite interesting. I think she'd be rather lovely in it, she's such a natural, ordinary person. Nothing put on, as it were.
The tour was amazing, btw. I got to two shows, the 1st of which my husband attended (he was supposed to go to my 2nd, but the arrival of my mother in law put a stop to that, so I quickly booked him into the earlier show, not as good a seat but at least he got to see the show AND Ben Burgess.
My husband said afterwards that it was the best show he'd ever been too! Helped by the fact he was sitting beside a rather lovely lady who had been a friend of Dame Kiri te Kanawa (if you don't know her, DO some youtubing, I LOVE "My Beloved Father") and had also performed in the lead role in West Side Story herself. Turned out she was a massive fan of Guy Sebastian's, and had missed out on tickets at Jupiters, which sold out quickly, so she grabbed some for her and her family in Brisbane. She was dancing (and got my hubby to dance :haha: ) and clapping and generally speaking, he didnt miss me one little bit - she even elbowed him in the ribs to get up! :P
He also said had he been able, he would have gone to the show the 2nd night. Unfortunately, his mother's plane was delayed, which we thought it might have been so I'd passed his ticket on to my lovely girl, who had a ball.
The news is that Battle Scars should be the next single, Guy was in the studio immediately the tour finished, and will fly over to do the video with Lupe. Album out soon. Might add I LOVE LOVE the new music but a warning, some songs are very different. Do NOT think "Gold"

Guy has arrived in NYC for the video.
It was a fantastic concert. I saw 3 shows myself, plus attended the filming for the DVD in Melbourne.

Guy is presently in New York, presumably to shoot the video for “Battle Scars” which he recorded with Lupe Fiasco. This is a really powerful, very different song.
Guy and Jules and baby Hudson of course, managed to get in a 5 day holiday at Gerrigong, and it looks like Guy finally got some surfing from Jules photo ha ha

Jules Guy and little Hudson appeared in the Who Magazine, 6 page spread, just gorgeous
Quote:
Halfway through his show in Cessnock, NSW, on June 1, the first of a 20-date tour, Guy Sebastian was stunned to suddenly find himself in floods of tears. The trigger? A song he wrote for his son, 4-month old Hudson. "I was bawling my eyes out, I couldn't even get the words out," says Sebastian, 30, explaining that "Big Bad World" explores the vulnerability of first-time parents and the fierce protective instincts that dawn. "My mates who were in the crowd haven't let me live it down since. But it was good because I got it out of my system at the start of the tour." The singer is still coming to terms with how dramatically life has changed since he and his wife, fashion stylist Jules, welcomed Hudson James Sebastian on March 3. "It's shifted my focus completely, everything I do now I do it for him," says Sebastian. "I'm more driven and energised- I've got this little fella to protect and provide a good life for. It's all about him now."
With that in mind, the new parents were keen to keep their family together when Sebastian embarked on his month-long tour to promote his upcoming seventh album, Armageddon. After spending a few nights away from their home in Sydney's eastern suburbs to trial the idea, they quickly concluded it was going to work only if Jules and Hudson slept in their own room. A self-described "stress head" about making sure he looks after his voice on tour, Sebastian has learnt that sleep is essential to maintaining his health- although it's a luxury not usually afforded to first-time parents. But the addition of another room "worked perfectly" explains the singer, who is back on the Seven Network's The X Factor in late August. "He and Jules came for the tour, and it was the best. Hudson was like my little roadie. He's an adorable little fella." And quite the tour trouper, Hudson has his own dressing room at each venue and slept soundly throughout his father's shows, his mum checking on him regularly. "I was a bit nervous about it to begin with but I'm so glad we did it," says Jules, 32. "It meant that Guy could be with Hudson and I could be with Guy- we could just be a family together."
The blue-eyed tot, who is "happy, smiley and very cute," report his mum and dad, is content in crowds and seems to have inherited his parents' bubbly personalities. Not surprisingly, he is displaying an affinity for music- the Beatles and the Rolling Stones are favourites- and he's an early fan of the drums. "My drummer was tapping on the table the other day and Hudson was fixated," says Sebastian. "And if I start beat-boxing, he starts laughing straight away. He loves it! We might have a little drummer on our hands!" To that end, Sebastian says he do his best to avoid directing his son's career path. Alluding to the pressure he felt to achieve academically when he was at high school in Adelaide (he studied medical radiation before he shot to fame as the inaugural winner of Australian Idol in 2003), the performer says he will keep an open mind about his son's choices. "I want to teach Hudson that education is important, but I'll also back up whatever it is he wants to do," insists Sebastian, the second eldest of four boys to "incredibly supportive" parents Ivan and Nellie. "I just don't want him to be a swimmer, because the starts are so early!"
Seeing her husband's devotion to their child has been a bonus joy, says Jules, who helms MTV's new makeover show, Style Me (starting on Aug. 14 at 9:30PM). After being in a relationship with the singer for 13 years (the childhood sweethearts married in May 2008), she is enjoying their evolving dynamic. "Seeing Guy become a father has probably been the best part," says Jules, who was 15 when she met Sebastian in a choir they were both singing in. "You never know what kind of parent each other will be like, or what your baby will be like, but Guy is just so in love. When Hudson is in the room, he doesn't see anything else." For Sebastian, too, Hudson's arrival has given him a newfound level of respect for his wife. "I've fallen for Jules all over again, I see her in a whole new light," he says. "The trust has grown as well because I constantly see how capable and in control she is- and how well looked after the baby is. It's made us stronger for sure. We're a family."
Yet his career will inevitably call for time away from his wife and son- a reality time away from his wife and son- a reality that Sebastian struggles with. Next on the itinerary: a trip to New York to film the video for "Battle Scars", his upcoming single with rapper-producer Lupe Fiasco, followed by a stop in London for meetings with music executives. Missing he first time that his son rolled over, in the middle of his Australian tour, was upsetting for Sebastian, who reveals he becomes "weirdly anxious" that Hudson will forget him when they're apart. That's why he will do whatever it takes to ensure that his family comes along for the ride, wherever his transient musician's life may take him. "For me, it's not an option to be away from them, I'm just not that sort of person," he explains. "Growing up, we travelled around a lot because my dad was a geologist, and you learn pretty quickly that you have to make do with your parents' situation. So until school starts, I'm just going to take him with me wherever I can."

He must have just about finished recording, was in Bob Marley's studio couple days ago. He's already done the Lupe Fiasco video.
