Paris Bennett? I could use some help here.

Just having a "good voice" isn't enough. Tons of people have good voices.....but when you are an egomaniac and you're only 16...imagine what a record deal would do to her......yuck.

She's going to be her own downfall.....I, for one, wouldn't even listen to her for free on the radio.

That is my problem for all of the remaining girls this year (except for Mandesa). Aggorance! I never remember this problem in the past on AI. I stopped voting for the girls for this reason. Its terrable.

I won't use any more insults, you're right it's not necessary, but I must comment on Katherine she is not sultry and she doesn't have more talent than Paris. She may be more mature, but I don't consider her sleazy persona as sex appeal. Perhaps, I'm coming from the female perspective.

Let's go back to the competition of the top 24, Katherine sang a Stevie Wonder song and did terrible. While Paris has made poor song choices, she has a beautiful voice. Perhaps she will take finally choose better songs and her talent will shine.

There's no question that Paris has strength in her voice, and the little teenager charm that America loves. Like you, I'd compare her strengths as being most similar to Mandisa in terms of her range and the power in her voice.

She's clearly outclassed when you consider the two of them. Mandisa has knocked us DEAD for several weeks running. She's got raw power and range, and she's put out showstopping performances night after night. Paris has been showcasing silly, flirty, and pointless since she's been on the show. Vocal talent- yes, showmanship- sure, if I were looking for a "wind-up doll" as Simon himself has called her. But no pop-sensation is there.

You may think Katharine is arrogant for plugging the MacPheever, but the fact of the matter is- her voice is so sultry smooth and she far better control than Paris has. She's got sex-appeal off the charts, and she picks high degree of difficulty songs. The same cannot be said of Paris.

I like your song recommendations for Paris. It will help her tremendously. Don't overshadow your insightfulness with underhanded remarks about posters being "slightly disturbed."

If you look at that performance you need to compare apples to apples.

Simon told Katharine she was "In her own little world" that night. Comparatively, this is what he told Paris:

NEVER, EVER has Simon, or for that matter ANY of the judges ever cited a Paris performance as the BEST. Frankly, Simon hasn't had much positive things to say about her other than she's like a "little wind up doll" and that's hardly comparable to saying that we're watching Katharine become a "star".

Hey- I'd love to see that too, but the fact of the matter is, we haven't. Katharine may have had one bad performance, but she's had true, standout performances. Paris has had to be told to watch her song selections numerous times already, and while I admit her latest performance was excellent, she really hasn't established herself as a powerhouse in the compeition through performances.

My only question is, she's so young. I wish they wouldn't let anyone trying out for Idol until they are 19. At her age, the pressures and manipulations of the Idol schedule could really cut into her growth.

Very well said. Paris is considered a "seasoned performer", but she can be very ambiguous, especailly with her song selection.

My girlfriend explained to me last night that she thought Paris was "Amorphous" right now. She's doing a lot of adjustments on stage week-to-week, but we aren't seeing any true "development" either artistically or in terms of showmanship. There's no doubt in my mind that Paris has got the goods- but we HAVE to use the same yardstick for performances for her and Lisa that we do the older contestants.

Age works in negative ways towards the older performers too. Kinnik is a very good example of that.
