Anyone have any ideas on what is going to be sung by each of the David's?

I haven't heard anything at all about the songwriters song or what other songs will be sung..I hope that it is a fantastic show!
last year, both blake and jordin sang the same song.

Song choices: 3 songs each: (1) chosen by Clive Davis (2) Song from the writer's competition and (3) A song that has already been done by the contestants or something new

Add With you, Smoky Mountain Memories, When You Believe, Longer, Another Day in Paradise, The Long and Winding Road and I don't think anybody can deny that We Can Work it Out was memorable :yelrotflm

Longer was not that good at all the only one of his performances that does stick in my head as being memorable would be Imagine as far as being pitiful down right horrible well go for Neil Diamond's America he totally butchered that song....As far as DC goes I can't think of any performances of his that were less than stellar..

I agree with you that Archy was not very good on America or Sweet Caroline. As I said I am the first to admit when Archy is not on top of his game. I think that Archy has been very on top of his game ever since Neil Diamond week. As for Longer Archy sang that song beautifully as Simon said so himself. Now it is possible that DC has been nothing short of stellar on every single one of his performances. It seems more likely though that he might have been less than stellar on a few and certain biased individuals just refuse to hear it. DCs last performance which for some reason the judges really liked IMO was weak for an AI finalist. THR I encourage you to listen to Aerosmith sing I don't want to miss a thing and then listen to DC sing it. Now I know that Steven Tyler is one of the all time greats but the difference in those two performances is HUGE. DC is quite good but he is far from perfect.

Let me clarify....DC has been stellar! He is not perfect by any means no is or has been since Christ....I am so familiar with I Don't Want To Miss A Thing and IMHO DC did a fantastic job.......Steven sings in such a distinctive way that I don't think anyone could ever be the front man for Aerosmith except for Steven....To me comparing Steven and DC is like comparing apples to oranges....

THR to me it seems you are biased. Of course you won't see it that way. DC has had several performances that were less than stellar. Now none were close to as bad as Archy singing we can work it out but several lets say a handful that were less than what I would call stellar. You really thought that performance of I don't want to miss a thing was FANTASTIC??? Oooh well. Here is hoping they are both stellar on all songs tonight.
here are some other great cook moments- always be my baby- eleanor rigby- music of the night... so happy together... cook has sung a lot of great songs.

Yes I definitely agree that Cook has many excellent performances. FTEISYF was just last week and might have been his best. I didn't like always be my baby but I just don't like that song.

That is true that he is breathy in some songs at least. I don't think he always sings like that. I have to double check. Lots of singers sing that way.

I don't like where this is headed. The judges clearly favour Archelletta, and unfortunately they tend to influence the voters.
I heard a record producer today say that if Archelletta finishes second, we'll probably never hear from him again, but if Cook comes second, it won't really matter, he's got a career ahead of him. I still hope Cook wins though.

ADT Tattoo was top ten on the charts for sure and No Air has gone to #1 or very close to it. She has been very successful.

I am loving DC on this final song. That is the kind of music I would buy if I didn't just listen to all my music on Youtube. DC voice has never sounded better. Kind of reminds me of Daughtry. He actually hit a slightly falsetto high note at the end. GO DC.

However, for the record, I agree that it was the wrong choice for Cook. He basically sang 2 songs that people didn't recognize, and it's a fact that people respond to what they know. I applaud his ethics, but he was wrong. It is a competition after all, and everyone knew that Archy would do Imagine - even before it was announced.

I totally agree, which is why I don't understand why the judges try to sway the votes so much. In the end I think the TV show has more commercial value to them, and retianing the teeny booper viewers outweughs the importance of album sales.

Two of Archys best performances were Imagine and The long and winding road. Even the biggest Archy haters almost unanimously agree that he was excellent on Imagine. I will be happy with whichever one wins. It seems like a lot of DC fans are allready assuming that Archy is going to win and being poor losers. I am not at all convinced that Archy will win and with a couple of exceptions have I nothing but good things to say about DC.
Their is no conspiracy by the judges to steer people toward Archy. They were giving their honest opinions as far as I can tell. If DC has the greater commercial appeal why would they want Archy to win. I guess the excuse there is that the only way Archy will sell is if he wins and DC will sell anyway. All of the hating and whining over a result that isn't even in yet is definitely putting a damper on this season.

THR did you say that Jordin would never be commercially successful? So far she is doing very well. Archy is loved by far more people than loved Jordin. Don't be surprised at all if he has commercial success. If he wanted he could be very successful just singing covers. He could be very successful singing Christian music maybe even bigger than Amy Grant. Archy will do just fine.

Thank you for posting that LouLou. It seems like the Cook fans are all whining and making excuses allready. It is almost certain that Cook will win if he is leading right now. By far most of the voting is done allready.

Ir's a tad early, but DialIdol is predicting Cook. I hope they're right, but i doubt it based on the judges ability to influence.
Tee hee I just came back from Dialidol...Much to my surprise Cook is in the number 1 spot of course everything could change by tomorrow...

For any person that didnt have their mind made up ahead of time Archy would be getting their vote right now. It is clear that DC had a large enough lead that it didn't matter.

THR did you say that Jordin would never be commercially successful? So far she is doing very well. Archy is loved by far more people than loved Jordin. Don't be surprised at all if he has commercial success. If he wanted he could be very successful just singing covers. He could be very successful singing Christian music maybe even bigger than Amy Grant. Archy will do just fine.

Jordin is not commercially successful yet.....Look at Daughrty he is a power house as far as success goes...Jordin's first single was very boring to me and I don't really care to much for No Air....

Thank you for posting that LouLou. It seems like the Cook fans are all whining and making excuses allready. It is almost certain that Cook will win if he is leading right now. By far most of the voting is done allready.
I would have to disagree with that statement after all The West Coast hasn't even seen the show yet and the Mountain Time Zone has had only 45 minutes to vote...Then you still have Hawaii and Alaska....Of course more people do live on the East Coast but the West Coast is populated too....

Well in my experience there are more young older adults that watch AI on the west coast then here in the midwest and on the east coast I have some family and friends but they don't even vote..YIKES can you believe that I am certain it's the same everywhere though...

David A's version of Imagine is highly overrated by judges. I've seen him sing three Beatles songs and none of them were memorable. David's best song tonight was Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. Period.

I don't think one cook fan is going to vote for david a. in fact I think they all are going to vote double for cook. archy was good in his first song. but no cook fan is going to change his mind. too far into the season, too many good songs to remember to not vote for him.

I tried going to dial idol but I couldn't get through when I clicked on predictions. Was it very close? If so they could be wrong. I think margin of error might be up to five percent. Otherwise DC is the winner. He did well last night just not as well as Archy. It is a shame that people make up their minds in advance and are too stubborn to change them :eek:. Oh well DC was pretty good.

Archy was better on his first second and third song last night. As you say though people make up their minds and a little thing like who sings better in the finale isn't going to change them.

IMHO DC had the 1st and 3rd round.....And yes I was listening to both of them with an open mind....
DC gets the 1st round because he was stellar!
Dc gets the 3rd round because he didn't sing a song we had already heard before from him anyway...He took a chance and Archy didn't show us something we had already seen...

I absolutely love Taylor and nothing will get me to change my mind....Have you seen the stuff with him and his former band mates (LiMBO) which stands for Little Memphis Blues Orchestra.....

I'm a tad jaded on that song since I've seen Sir Elton sing that one live. The mental comparison left me wanting. He sang it well, but Elton put some vocal flourishes in there that give it a special passion that I didn't get from Archy.

That was my whole problem with David A. He's actually a good singer but lacks the passion.

I don't want to miss a thing was actually his worst performance of the season. Now honestly that proves he was pretty consistently good but still he really blew the ending on IDWTMAT.

He doesn't hit the high at all and he is simply screaming with no vocal control at all. It offends my ears. Saying that I want to say that DC actually did hit the highs on the Songwriters winner that he sang at the end of the show.

I'll have to listen to it again but not tonight I am just too tired and the morning comes along way too soon....
