Why not?
If He's 1/2 Black 1/2 white, why not package him as America's First White African American Presidential Candidate?
Could someone please explain to me How Obama's White genetic identity is trumped by his Black genetic makeup.
Or why not just call Barack a White candidate?

Because the white part isn't the important part, in this case. It is so stupid how much emphasis is placed on race in this country.

Being proud of your heritage and classifying anyone based on race are not the same thing.
The fact that we are required to identify our racial/ethnic background on government forms and college and job applications is completely racist.
Oh an in case you're wondering, I'm not caucasian- I just don't feel that a university, a workplace, or the Federal government has the right to treat me any different (be it better or worse) based on the amount of melanin in my skin.
I'm an American. Not an African-American, not a Caucasian-American, not an Arab-American, I'm an American, just like you...and you...and you...

And you can't go to college. We have way too many Swedish-German right-handed Americans in college.

Dammit my dad's family had to be German now I get nothing except my heritage....BTW how did you know that I am right handed....well you had a 50% chance even more because most of us are right handed.....And then there is my son oh my he is Swedish, German, French, English, Irish and American Indian so I just call him a Mutt but he's my Mutt!
Totally agree. And as an aside, BHO lent his voice to ads trying to defeat a Michingan Constitutional amendment being sponsored by another "African American" (who simply identifies himself as an "American") which would:
....prohibit the state from "discriminat[ing] against, or grant[ing] preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting."
Now, explain to me again how BHO wants to end racism?
