He talked about how uncomfortable he was performing in front of an audience. When he was performing he looked like he was totally at ease. It was only after the song was done the nerves showed. He'll have to overcome that to go to the final 4. But if he grows (and we've seen others do that in past seasons) he could go far. Might be my favorite of the night. Well done.

He could do a remake of that song no problem and make it a hit. He made that song his own, as they say, and nailed it.

You know...FK has been telling me to cut my hair for a week now. She broke out the scissors and did the honors Monday night.

So now her attention is on these guys getting a haircut!

I liked Milli (or Vanilli...maybe he looks more like Vanilli). My fave performance of the guys.

No, that fool just has those janky dreads. Have you ever been around a person with dreads? Dread locks STINK!!! Lack of washing is part of the process of achieving dreads. They are a sign of improper grooming. EWWW!!! If he doesn't change his hair during the makeover week, he has lost me forever. Sorry, but I cannot stand dread locks!

X1TX
02-20-2008, 02:02 PM
Yeah. But I can't smell the dread locks over the telly-tubby-vision. So I don't worry about it.

Besides, I normally cut my own hair so I'm just over a Q ball.........

That wasn't very nice! No, I actually do a really good job, but he just has great hair. The first time I used the clippers, I accidentally cut too close in a few spots, and his niece asked me if he was going bald. I felt so bad! Now I have had a lot of practice, so his hair looks great.

You ought to have your ears examined. Daughtry is the single best singer in Idol History. Lucky for him he didn't win because the public will never take a male rock singer seriously if they win American Idol.

I guess this answers my question about Daughtry being your favorite. Taylor was a lot of fun but as for his voice it was only average for an american Idol finalist. Daughtry has a STUNNING voice. For those who care about more than voice Daughtry also has a perfect look for his kind of music and great stage presence.

Don't get me wrong I liked Daughtry but for me Taylor was the most entertaining for season 5....Which imo has been the best season so far I am holding judgment on season 7 until we get the top 10 and see how things shape up..

I guess the message from most of you is that if you can find a really good version of a great song, copy the daylights out of that version, and you're golden. Isn't there some point that singers are expected to do something original? Jason's was a bad stone copy of Izzy's, and he deserved no praise for his theft. Yes it is a shame Izzy died so young. I saw him in concert, and he was magical.

In response to Lancelot, most of Iz's songs were in Hawaiian with a few English lyrics. I especially liked E Ala E (had to look it up to confirm the title). I think it was his style, the tone of his voice, and his passion that I liked the best. My wife talked me into going and brought me around to appreciating him. Jason's "Rainbow" was a total rip-off without any of the above.

Funny thing: I judged our school talent show on Saturday night with two other teachers, and SoS came with. We had to be nice, even though some of the kids (ALL of the singers, save one) were AWFUL! So, we wrote our mean comments on the score sheet. We were SO MEAN!!! In all fairness, some of the acts were SO embarrassing! However, I now relate to Simon a bit more.

Lol Indeed perhaps he will sing this one I think it would fit his voice perfectly but if the voters don't understand the song they may not get it.....

A lot of Neil Diamond songs should be right in his wheelhouse. He should be able to do well here.

Yeah Mornigside is sad but I do love that song.....It reminds me of my Grandpa who was a carpenter on the side and tried to teach his grandsons the trade and they all resented him...So sad really Grandpa was the best....When he was 80 years old he started to build a house for my Grandma...Oh I wanted to buy it so bad but my husband said no way.....Then my husband died and someone else bought his house....He did it himself too and passed away a year ago in Feb. He was 96 I believe and Grandma passed awy in the house that Grandpa built....

Your grandpa must have loved your grandma a lot.:) So beautiful and touching.

Reminds me of the movie "Lakehouse".

Jason has not been a favorite of mine from the start. He has good physical appeal, a nice stage smile, and a generally good stage presence, but I find his voice too breathy, and too full of "sob."

Indeed he did...He courted her for almost 10 years because my Grandma being the oldest girl in her family felt guilty about leaving her dad to take care of the farm as well as the children...But Grandpa and my Great Uncle got together and approached both Aunt Ethel and my Grandma and said this is it we are going to the cities either you Marry us or you will never see us again.....Joyfully the ladies married their loves in a double wedding and Great Grandpa never forgave my Grandma for leaving.....They were Married for 55 years before Grandma passed away.....My Grandma started taking care of her dad and all the younger siblings when her mom died after giving birth and Grandma was 12 years old....I was fortunate to have known all of my Grandparents and 3 Great Grandparents....I loved them all even Great Grandpa who never forgave my Grandma....

that kind of love doesnt happen now and it's sad. Back in those days...they made it work. Now people get bored and want to move on..to what they think is better....It's sad. We are a "please me NOW" society !

Indeed it is so sad.....I loved my husband very much and was married to him longer than my siblings were married to theirs...I would still be married if he had survived.....I am beginning to think I will never have that kind of love again......

It's good to hear that the feeling that you had the first time you get together with your husband is still intact, and I believe that is something that many people should learn nowadays, because in today's life, everybody takes marriage like a game, instead of getting to know well before going ahead and linking their lifes for lifetime!

Well at this stage, it really doesn't matter who leaves. I think they'll likely all get contracts. So I doubt any of them will have to go back to bartending soon.
