i am proud to be black and female and proud of all my sisters who performed they out sang the rest.however i was most impressed with miss alaina whitaker.surprised at this young white lady vocal talent.she out sang malloy.malloy you can tell has a strong beautiful voice and if she get it together with her stage presence and and not so shaky in her notes she'll could be a contender.she need to smile and relax.it a ashame when a sixteen year old do better than you in the first show.the australian tattoo lady bust my ear drum and the high notes werent clear and her teeth is all mess up.syesha high notes were clear and she look real nice also which is a plus in the entertainment world.

She is the best so far, exciting, fun to watch, great voice, the whole package. Unfortunately, she's black! Idol had a sister last year, so this year I predict a white winner, male or female. Fox has seeded the fake competition with plenty of pros, so I expect one of those will win. Didn't you love Paula's defense of Idol's blatant attempt to pack the contest with ringers? I never knew you spelled Abdul: S-H-I-L-L. At least she doesn't mix up Patsy Cline and Connie Francis.

Carly is Irish, not Australian.

The best vocal by far was Ramiele. I like Syesha, but she is a bit screechy. I also love Kady Malloy, but she may be a great singer/ crap performer type. Only time will tell.

I really think Syesha has the chops to win it, and has demonstrated some resilience early in the competition. That said- when it comes time for the public to vote- the conquest for voters (I believe) is made demographically.

That means Syesha will be compared to the other female, atheletic, ballad type singers. Here's where it gets interesting.

Ramiele seems to be highly favored coming off this week- but despite her consistent performances, song choices may kill her if she sticks with ballads and standards. She's going to need to demonstrate that she can be fun and young too.

Asia'h is a major powerhouse singer, and probably the only girl with the chops to hang with Syesha in terms of range and power. This is where I believe the voting public will have to vote based on vocal stylings and personality. Asia'h has the vocals for sure, but some people (myself included) prefer Syesha's vocal stylings- that weird thing that Asia'h doesn't really enunciate when she sings ("heart" is pronounced "ouart"), some people like and others find annoying.

I would also include Karly with the big vocal singers for obvious reasons. Karly is polished and professional, and there's a ton of hype with her too. That's a potential concern for Karly though, as with the rumblings of her past professional career may end up alienating people who would otherwise be in love with her right now.

On a demographics level- Syesha has to content with standouts like Amanda, pretty girls like Alaina, and quirky favorites like Kady and Brooke.

I say if Syesha puts together a really powerhouse performance next week, she may continue on the the competition safely for some time.

I am kind of starting to feel badly for Carly. She really wants this, and she doesn't seems super assured, as if someone had built her up to think she was a shoe in. I get that vibe from Johns a bit, but that could just be self assurance.

I really want someone different to win it this year, which is why my two faves are Danny and Ramielle. AI needs to change it up, whether they know it or not.

Why is everybody disregarding the chance that a guy might win? The best vocalist in this whole competition is David Archuletta and Michael Johns is another strong candidate.

Michael Johns isn't that sensational to me. He's got the look but he fell flat on that last Door's number. David Archuletta is talented but I wouldn't rush out to buy his music or see him in concert. Castro was great last week but I need to see him sing a few more songs to determine if he's my pick. That goes for the whole bunch of them really. It's too early to tell who's the best. But the girl with the "yes" in her name I have a feeling she will go far.

Much better guys than last year but the guys were practically nonexistent last year. Only Chris Sligh and Blake could even carry a tune and neither had anything special to their voices.
This year David A, M Johns, Jason and Robbie are all pretty solid.

Last year, I was impressed when Melinda did a rock song. She was amazingly good, however Jordin did not do as well. Jordin cannot rock! I was surprised when she actually won!!

I guess I missed rock night last year. Lakesha, Melinda and Jordin all had spectacular voices. Melinda was the second coming of Gladys Knight. I think that worked against her as she just seemed a little old fashioned. They all had what Simon likes to refer to as big voices. Lakesha had the biggest voice but Jordin was simply more pleasant to listen to when the song didn't call for a big voice. IMO the most deserving girl won.

Yes, she is probably safe, but what a lousy performance from a great singer. Fortunately for her, there were several even worse jobs done. Lusington couldn't sing on tune if money were on the line. Epperson is a total joke, pitchy, nervous. Overmyer, who I love, was way off tonight. Kady Malloy did nothing with a simple song. I would like to see Lushington and Epperson gone, but I expect it will be Malloy and Overmyer.

He's working behind the camera's in future shows while making bigger $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. So while his insults gag me sometimes I will miss seeing him as a judge.

Even Simon said the show was past its peak and he expected it to decline. But it has helped Fox this year to have a new show out when their others (like 24) were delayed by the writers strike. But his persona has become an icon of AI, so I don't know how they'd replace him. Though I wouldn't miss the 'witty banter' between Ryan and Simon. That I can do without. I think it quit being funny LONG ago...........

chickizie literally blew away everyone this week showing vocal versatility and vocal range.just about all the white mens vocal too high like a little girl,menard,noriego,little david.they needs them to drop they drawwers and check they dangles.rocker boy cook did really well rearranging lionel ritchies beautiful song but if you listen carefully there seem to be some fakeness about his vocal.not a traditional rock singers vocal,sounds fake and forced.michael johns has a nice sounding natural vocal and should win the whole thing unless chickizie continue to raise the bar then he'll take home the title.

carly again sounded breathy on some of her high notes.i wonder if she'll ever feminize.she looks like one of those peeps on the show cops.you know when they drug bust and arrest the trashy slums and sluts that do and sell cocaine and other drugs and lay up with each other.

ramiele did horrible.once the hipe about her finally die down the voters will see she doesn't have it.kady malloy imv has the greatest potential and maybe the best vocal but she isn't ready or either her heart isn't in it something.if she ever decide she wants the title probably no one could stand in her way.i'll be surprised if she stays another week.brooke white has a commercial vocal and will not win the title.syesha syesha syesha.what can i say she is the clear winner this week and gaining confidence and momentum.she has the best vocal,the best look,great stage personality and could represent american idol better than the rest.i loves me some syesha.i had the teets to predict her the winner in the very beginning and now she will make me a winner.go syesha!

syesha had another solid good vocal performance but she needs to take it to the next level.carly is bringing it like a kfc picnic basket for eight,with all the fixins.carly is good but kind of a cheap imitation of celine dion.homegirl need to tighten up her bra straps.when she gets excited and bounces,her boobies start floppin up and down,almost slappin her in her chin.

brooke white had yet another safe,no thrills,performance.she would make a nice lounge singer.ramiele should have never made the top 12.overmyer was horrible.i would like to see her and schwarzenegger do a duet.now,that would at least be worth listening too.

david cook and my future lover chickizie won high honor for male performers last night.we'll most likely be hearing cooks music on the radio this summer, he has that recording vocal.he is cleaning up too,shaved and put on some decent clothes.archuletta was bad,never liked him.chickizie is sexy and has a sexy sound,and as you seen last night,very entertaining.hernandez sang in key and on pitch but doesn't have the quality vocal like chick, johns and cook.he would make a good lounge singer though, at the gay eclectic club LA.castro will be singing outside starbucks catchin nickels, right after his shift is over.

archuleta performed really well last night.however the song he sang "long and winding road" is one of the more emotional commercially artistic musical pieces ever written and recorded in music history.no discredit to davids performance,i'm just saying,simply read the lyrics separate from the music,and i'd still be moved.he still struggles with the fast tunes and probably always will.
david cook performed good also.i like the idea hes got.changing and rearranging songs to give it a fresh and different sound.
even though i think chickizie has one of the top two male vocals on this show,he didn't do so well last night.
castro needs to go.they are reserving his spot outside starbucks.

syesha didnt knock it out the park, but did pretty good.so did carly.
i dont know what brooke white was trying to accomplish last nite.she made me think of a little shirley temple auditioning for an acting role.her notes were all over the place too.terrible.
ramiele still doesn't have it even though she sounded some better.
kristy cook at least was on pitch and did better this week.country is her genre.she seems to be a really sweet girl,and has a very good disposition,the kind you like to see succeed.

ai needs to ditch themes and let these singers do what they do best.example its not fair to a black soulzy type singer to sing a country music song or a white country type singer to rap or scream heavy metal tune.its displacing and nearly a train wreck every time.whats the point in doing this?

Maisha I agree with you on most of what you said in this post. Carly and David A were the best tonight. Syesha was solid. Castro is the one who should be gone. Randy is the best but you see where this one is going. Honestly most people think Simon is the best but he is just full of his cliches. Shower performance, Cabaret, Theme Park, Bar performance.

If he did that hasn't always been the case. Michael John's wasn't one of my favorites in the beginning but I'm liking him now.

I love Aiken's voice!!!! Also George Huff another fantastic voice! Ace young has an incredible voice that most people missed it wasn't until we went to the idols concert for season 5 that I realized how incredible his voice actually is.....We were stuck with seats that were not that great and could not see who was singing what in this one number and much to my surprise I discovered them on You Tube with Ace having the stellar vocals....This is from our concert.........

this show was terrible terrible terrible and boooooooooooooooooring.when it gets down to the final six or so,idol should let them sing what they want to and do what they best at.

I just figured out how Syesha can win this competition. They said the vote last week had the top three all within one million votes of each other. The Davids split up the male contestant vote next week and DC loses. The Finals are Archy and Syesha and the DC fans seem to be Archy haters so they vote for Syesha out of spite. There you have it Syesha Mercado the Next American Idol.

Wow a David Cook fan who thinks Archy deserves second. I thought all Cook fans hated Archy. Actually I am a pretty big DC fan but I do like Archy best. I believe the best three are the final three so for all the whining and complaining people have done along the way America has got the final three correct IMO.

Based on consistent talent it's a split between Cook and Archuleta.

Syesha has been consistently inconsistent and shouldn't win.
She has said she wants to sing AND act so now she should take some time to try her hand at that.
She did shine when Andrew Loyd Weber was on the show and it was in her wheel house so, it only makes sense.

I don't think she has been inconsistent, the think is that she doesn't have a huge fan base as the Davids, and she has been in the bottom several times, but I still believe she deserves her place in the final 3, and I hope she shines in this week show so everybody can see what she is capable of, eventhough, again, she has not a huge fan base as the Davids, so if she makes it to the final 2, that would be unexpected!

I like Syesha and I have since here the beginning. But I think pressure has gotten to her too many times.
I believe she will make her mark in the entertainment world though.:)

Her voice and personality say so much. I mean all of the finalists are great but you need that extra something and she has that. All of her performances have been pretty much flawless and I love her so much for it. :)

big kahuna what about the carly, brooke, castro fans that dont care for archuletta, votes? which is alot of votes by the way.these people need somewhere to go now, and could vote for syesha.

honewstly i try to hear archuleta singing voice on my car radio, what i hear sounds okay for about 3 or 4 songs after that, the record labels rip the contracts.

cook i can clearly hear on my radio for many years to come.this guy can sang anything.

no matter though, cause archulata is goin to win cause all the little girls voting and throwin they pantys at him.

syesha has proven she has a commercial vocal and look, and will sale a lot of cds and material and produce a lot of moneys.

well i was wrong yall.on february 14th i predicted syesha to win it all.sadly she was vote off may14th.third place prize to syesha.not too bad.:awink:
