He was marginable at best. He will probably be an early wipe out during hollywood week.

Yeah. If every song he does comes out with that Brit accent, some in the voting audience would likely tire of it early on. He could surprise in Hollywierd though if he manages to get some sleep before the contest starts.

yea, I wonder if they knew his story about living in a car so they had some compassion for him? I hope he is better than what he showed. I would like to see him get out of the car and make a better life for himself.

I remember years ago when I was 17 I was dating a guy who I was ready to dump. However, he ran into some serious bad luck and was sleeping in his car. I had to put off dumping him as I didn't have the heart. Then my mom spotted him sleeping in his car and invited him to come and live with us. I was trying to give her the cow eyes to tell her NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She didn't notice and he accepted. He only stayed a short while, luckily for me, and then I dumped him. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing as my mom would say.

Even if he gets cut early, his life will improve a thousand per cent, just for getting a golden ticket. He will become famous, girls will want to date him, he will get a job, and his family will be proud of him.

Really? I loved this guy! He had one of the purest voices of any contestant. The fake accent is a byproduct of learning to sing through mimicry. However, he didn't do the crazy runs and fake vocal effects that others who learn this way do. His vocals were clean and really lovely. He is one of my faves!

I think they gave him a pass based on his earlier performances. But yes, that last one was a train wreck. If he does it again he's toast.

Watching him last night made me understand why he is homeless. I bet he had a lot of arguments with his family.

I know when my son gets tried he gets argumentative and whiny I am going to chalk his attitude up to being tired....He is at that stage where he should be sleeping 8-12 hours a night...The teen years are just as important as when you are a baby..you go through a lot of changes growing, hormones etc...

maybe he was trying too hard because he's desperate? I hope he manages to pull off a decent performance for many weeks to come, so that he's out of the car. I'm sure the judges know of his situation so they felt they needed to cut him a break. That was probably his last chance. I hope goes further.

Whatever happened to the girl who sold her horse to be there? Did she make it? I saw her auditon last night but didn't see if she made it. I hope she made it for the sake of the horse lol. That would suck to sell your horse for nothing.

one bad note and one girl was kicked off, yet josiah completely flubbed his final audition and still got three yeses. It will be interesting to see the results tonight.

I think josiah's days of living in his car are over anyway.

Poor kid! I wish they could have given him a sympathy yes. They probably feared it would turn into another Sanjaya case if they did, and it wouldn't be fair to the others. Poor kid though.

Yeah, but he needs to be in a band. First, he needs to go home and finish high school.

They probably said no based on his final audition and his attitude. Probably didn't want another Sanjambalaya case going on and on while they had to deal with a prima donna behind the scenes. I thought he had a decent voice, but other factors probably got him booted. He does need to grow up a bit though. Going back home and working things out with his family would be a good start.

I am new to this site. However, I would like to share some thoughts on "Josiah Leming". These are quotes I made in reply to some on the other Morristown, Tn sites that were talking about him.

1. What a farce! If anyone knows about 'Josiah' they know that most of this is all an act. He doesn't HAVE to live out of his car. He has had many opportunities to live somewhere. Traveling the country-I don't think going to Knoxville and Nashville is traveling the country. Oh yeah, he did go to TX to stay with a family, but left to go to Atlanta for Idol.
It's true about his mom and dad. what's worse is the way he treats them. "Josiah" is rude, abusive, arrogant, egotistical, vulgar, and a bum.

I really feel sorry for his parents.

I have known Josiah since he was a baby. What I know is all first hand. Don't think that just because someone has a differing opinion than yours means they aren't just as knowlegable, or more so, than you.

3. It's amazing when someone has opposing views that THEY are then the ones that have a problem. I have no jealousy or hatred at all toward 'Josiah'. I do feel sorry for his parents- he has no idea what he has put them through. He is very intellegent-but common sense is lacking (dropping out of high school 2-3 months before graduating, 'telling-off' school administrators that he is smarter than they, and as Nasty Ned wrote, his cocky attitude has gotten him everytime, and not just on Idol. And lest you think I'm 'hiding behind a computer screen', much of this has been said to 'Josiah', face to face, many times by me and others over many year.

See, your problem is that you equate success with dollar signs. But, success is way more than that. You and "In the Know" must be very bitter people to come on here with such jealousy and bash Josiah. I'm sure if it was your kid on AI, you would do nothing but sing their praises. Can't you just be happy for him?
Sorry, you're wrong again. There is no jealousy or bitterness on my part, only sympathy and pity. In many eyes he has seemingly gained so much - but in doing do, he has lost so much more. And no, my kids would not be on AI or any other show similar.

As you can tell a lot has been going on with Joey here in his hometown. As I said above, I am not one bit resentful, hateful or envious of him or his noteriety (sp?). He has taken advantage of his parents, family and friends. He has used his mother's illness to further his own goals. Even now, there are offers coming from all over the country because of 'the poor little boy has to live his car because he has no where to go!' THOSE people ought to check out the real facts before they start 'welfaring' him. That's exactly what he wants. And he wasn't taught or brought up to be that way.
Sorry for such a long reply. Maybe this will add to the thought process.

i found it rather odd that josiah was sure that he would get into the final 24 even though he completely messed up his last audition. He not only gave a non perfect performance, he also made the judges mad by firing the band. They thought that that was rude and arrogant... even so josiah still felt he would get into the final 24.... simon had told him that he did not do as well as he should have... even so josiah still was postitive that he would get into the final 24.

It is evident that josiah is arrogant. A cure for arrogance maybe is three judges, one of them named simon.

Josiah came off as a very likable kid, but his vocal ability is simply not where it needs to be to get him where he wants to go. He has a lot of bad habits vocally, such as the fake Brit accent that some have mentioned.

I think it was Randy who briefly mentioned "bad decisions" when the judges sent Josiah packing. I think I know what that meant. Josiah has a tendency to put too many vocal nuances into his performance in an effort to make his rendition of the song uniquely his. He did it to the point that the band couldn't click with him. An AI contestant who makes it onto the show can make the band do a song "their" way, but not when the band has to prepare material for some 100 contestants. They can't spend that kind of time on a single contestant under those circumstances. Josiah simply lacked the musical maturity to recognize the need in his situation to straighten out his vocal and make it jive with the way the band was playing. He had no choice when it came to crunch time but to ditch the band - the wrong decision.

I'd like to see Josiah give AI another try perhaps in a few years. This year, he just wasn't ready.

Knowing nothing more of the boy than what was presented on the show, I can't make any call on what he's really like personally. But thank you for confirming what I suspected all along. There was no way I believed that that boy was living in his car because no one cared enough about him to give him a home.

I'm sorry that his AI dream didn't come true, but I don't fret for a minute about where he will go from here. The answer is simple. He's a kid. He needs to go home. With a few years of growing up, he may be ready for his shot at the big time.

Well, I was really disappointed when he didn't make the top 24. I thought he was better than a few that WERE put through. Oh well - I guess life goes on -for the viewers and for Josiah! I wish him the best, though. I just think he was 'original'. He sang a song he wrote for his audition and it wasn't bad at all. And then when he dismissed the band for the Hollywood audition, I didn't think he was being rude about it. If he hadn't rehearsed with them, why NOT sing acapella? Had he sung with the band and it not sounded right, there was that chance that it wouldn't be right, so...
It's over and done with now - I just as soon be quiet about it, I guess. :(

I couldn't stand him. I'm soooo glad he's gone. He's such a poser, with that fake-a$$ British accent. Plus, that crybaby act, got old, real quick. I just wanted to smack him.
