She is only 16 very impressive for such a young girl....Her grandma brought her to the auditions...BTW she is 16.....
So I wonder how many times Randy will point out that she's "only 16" this season?

Lol probably more times than he pointed out that Jordan was only 17 last year...

Loved her!
She did very well. Missed a few notes but as a whole it was a good, solid performance. I don't see her at risk of elimination this week especially given the pimping AI has provided on her behalf.

Alexandria did a great version of the Peter Cetera Song. I think the Judges are ridiculous in their assessment.

I'm afraid I have to agree with the judges on this one. She didn't do as well as she could have - had she made the correct song choice. Actually I think a lot of the girls tonight made horrible decisions regarding song choice.

I thought she nailed that song too! I thought it was a very difficult song to sing and she sang it beautifully. I love that song and she rocked it. The judges were very wrong in my opinion. She's the only one, I thought, was excellent tonight.
Given all the great music that came out of the 70's (that's either still being played or has been repeatedly covered) I think some of the song choices were pretty bad. Probably worse tonight. This wasn't a good song for her at all. And that outfit she was wearing didn't go with the mood of the song at all.

Maybe you had to really like the song to see that she nailed it? If the song was hated by most, to my surprise, perhaps it would be harder to see that she did a good job???
I think she did well. I just think there are other tunes that could have showed her strengths more than this one did. I don't think, by any means, it should earn her a trip home. It's just I think she's better at syles other than the song she chose.

I see what you are saying but it must be tough on these kids to choose the right song having not grown up with the music. I think she is safe too. I like her. I hope she stays around for a long while.
Well, I certainly didn't see THIS coming. I thought she was safe for sure but apparently not. It wasn't the best she's done, but at least 3 did worse than she did. Guess she never gained fan base.

Yes, I was quite surprised. Sad to see her go. She had great potential.
She had a good voice and did get a little pimping early on. I did like her voice though. Like others better. Never did vote for her though.

I am very sad that she is gone. I wish they had given KKKristy the axe instead!
I have a feeling KKKristy is going to be around for a while. Thought either Kady or Amanda should have gone before Alexandrea. Alex has a much better voice.

Does anyone else find it weird to say that these contestants (not kids) have a tough time choosing songs because they haven't "grown up with the music"? Does this mean that they should just do songs from the 21st Century? If you're 20 years old, you were born in 1987 or 1988 and didn't become a teenage until the 21st C. I think it's strange that they don't learn more about the songs they sing. David A. seemed to understand the message of "Imagine". He wasn't even born when John Lennon was murdered!

Well, if you want to see how good someone is as a vocalist, give them a song they don't know. If they only sang songs they knew and were comfortable with, then we'd have no insight into how adaptable they are. History of pop music is littered with "one hit wonders" who could only do one song well, but they couldn't adapt their style to anything else. Making them stretch shows whether or not they're capable of longevity in the music biz.

If they aren't familiar with the music and they have a very short period of time to pick out a song I think it would be hard to determine what would work for them. Unless, you've been doing this for a long time then maybe it would be easier I'm guessing? Speaking of one hit wonders one of my favorites is Going on up to the spirit in the sky that's where I'm gonna go when I die. When I die and they lay me to rest I'm gonna go to the place that's the best.

Spirit in the Sky is possibly the most classic one hit wonder ever. Seasons in the Sun I think is the biggest selling one hit wonder ever. Maybe we should start a one hit wonder thread.

Season's in the Sun sure brings back memories. Terry Jack's lives out here. He and his sister Susan were the group the Poppy Family. His sister Susan Jacks sang some good tunes. Just this last summer my sister rented a vacation rental right beside Susan Jacks.

I want that song playing at my funeral, wayyyyyy, wayyyy, wayyyyy down the road of course.
I'm getting ready for a ride to Big Bend National Park. So I sent that to the guys I'm riding with. It's not exactly Big Bend, but it's enough to whet the appetites.......

I just looked up Big Bend and my gawd that looks pretty! How awesome to go riding there. How long will it take you guys to drive there?
Not driving. Going on two wheels. It's about 700 miles from here (but still in the same state). Over a dozen of us two wheel hoons going. Supposed to be in the 30's a couple of mornings while we're out there. Thankfully, I have Gerbings (electric heated gear).

Wow small world. That song was huge. #1 song of the year I believe. At least on some of the charts.
'in the year 2525' was a one hit wonder as far as I know.

Wow, really, you've never heard it!? I listen to this count down to the 70's on Sunday nights when I'm driving home from work and some songs they play I have never heard of. I gather they were big in the States but weren't popular over here, so I guess that can happen on occasion.
