Simon is too nice this year and I really need him to flip out on someone soon! I don't watch the early shows for nothing I watch to see Simon give a tongue-lashing to someone.

He has been really nice he didn't even laugh at the gut that both Paula and Randy were hysterically laughing at.....

He's bound to slip and say something crippling to some poor slob.

He was kind of mean to that dude who huffed and puffed through Bon Jovi. He told him that security was taking him somewhere safe.

I noticed 'Nicer Simon' last year. May be he is trying to be nice because some people complained he was too mean.

I saw a couple of times this year when he was rather blunt.

He is looking pretty good!!!! He seems relaxed and healthy.

I don't think that he is really mean. He says what others are thinking, just a bit more cleverly or sarcastic. I think he seems nicer this year, just because he's frustrated by the stupidity of some of them. I hate these early shows. He's part of the creative minds behind the show, and he knows that a lot of people like this crap, so he goes along with it, even though he is clearly frustrated by them. I wish he would show some real integrity and not allow the stupid stuff - but then again, it probably would mean several fewer shows to sell to FOX, and that would cost money, so it won't happen.

So is the rumour that he is quiting AI after 3 years, true?

And he wants Donald Trump to replace him!! LOL, LOL.
Ai won't be the same without him.

When Simon leaves 90 per cent of the people will stop watching. If trump goes on, no one will watch except for maybe trump's daughter.

I've seen the last season of American Idol , i was interesting in the auditions because it's funny , between the judges I've liked Simon , some times he was over rude but I think he was telling the right , and I can excuse him for his rudeness some people are very strange and funny , the show will not be exciting if he become nice .

I have been sick......I didnt even get to watch AI.

I will be sure to catch up this week. I hope Simon does show some 'Simon-spunk'...it wouldnt be the same if he changed his personality to conform to what others think he should be.

Simon is still rather.. er... blunt. He is trying to find the fine line between honesty and brutal honesty... which can bring people to tears.

Brutal honesty can go to far. Although, I can certainly appreciate some 'funny bluntness'...(i hope that isnt to mean of me, lol), it should never cross the line, the way the 'bush baby' thing did. The physical and mental abilities of a person should never be made fun of!

What's happened to AI? Not nearly as much stupid stuff and way more good people in these early days. I like it much better. But, let's get moving, I can't wait for Hollywood.

Do you think Simon may have softened a little due to the ratings drop last season ? He did take some heat over the "bush baby" thing, and over what some misinterpreted as disrespect for the tragedy at VaTech.

I hope this isn't the case, and I doubt seriously that the ratings had 1 percent as much to do with Simon as the fact that last year's group of songers was probably the worst so far.

I really doubt that ai's ratings suffered that much last year. I think simon changed a little bit after his trip to africa and saw first hand at the suffering there.

Due to the flack Simon received last year for the Bush Baby comment I believe he's has made an extreme effort to not be so freakishly mean this year.

I think Simon softened a bit but he seems to be getting back to his old self again...Last years was the worst so far it's so sad some of them were very very good but for the most part I would rather have eaten a lemon......

Nice to see you back Edge!

Nice to see you back Edge!

Thanx ! :)

This is a good forum with some really fine members, and as long as I'm around, there won't be an AI season go by without me checking in with you all from time to time.
