Hollywood will eat her alive unless she stays on her toes...I would like to see her make it but I have my doubts.....Then again she is a Nanny so only time will tell...

She was okay, I just didn't find anything remarkable about the contestant.
If she makes it to the top 24 though, she'll rack in votes from the conservative crowd- which is pretty big in Idol votes.

I like her performance tonight I doubt she will be going home it's really not half bad....
Pretty decent performance. I like her. Not one of the top 3, but pretty good. She's quite endearing too.

I think walking on sunshine would rub Simon the wrong way. He already thinks she's too sun shiney. That song would push him over the edge.
She looks like a TV actress. If this doesn't work out for her she should get into acting.

He must be going through withdrawls from holding the nasty comments in for so long. The Bush Monkey comment he made last year kept him on his toes during the auditions but this is where he draws the line. He feels he now has to be nasty. He seems to really need to belittle people. It's one thing to tell them their song choice or their singing skills are weak but he just goes on and on and on and on. People that have been on this show and lost must be much stronger people for having lived it. Can't imagine taking those comments infront of millions of people.

The thing is, in this business, one must endure terrible critisism. It comes with the territory. If a person cannot handle it, they shouldn't be in showbiz. Simon is pretty honest most of the time, and sometimes the honesty is pretty mean. It doesn't change it's truth though. That kid DID look like a bushbaby, but Simon really didn't need to tell him that. He should have just told him he couldn't sing well enough. When he told Luke (I think it was him) that he was forgetable and that no one would ever admit they were forgettable, that was super mean, but totally true! He is mean, but most of these people are way too sensitive, and all of the viewers are. Way worse is being said to people who are in a recording studio right now, legit artists with contracts and fanbases. Don't feel too badly for these people. This is what they signed up for. it is just worth noticing that Simon has progressed from pretty nice to downright cruel in the last few weeks.

I could see someone saying you need to lose weight or dress sharper, change your hair but to make hideous remarks about your god given body/looks then that is sick.

Well, sex and beauty sell. Unattractive people seldom go far in showbiz. Painful honesty is neccessary sometimes for deluded people who will never make it and will instead be ridiculed. It is just the way it is, regardless of whether it is nice or fair.

In acting, it can happen, because of character acting. Have you ever seen Buscemi cast as a leading man? No, because he is type cast as a character part in every movie because he isn't conventionally attractive.
Look around. Most celebs in main stream pop culture are very attractive.
simon is in a real bad mood, I agree... I am not surprised because he wanted kyle in but was out voted by randy and paula, and so now he is not going to be too polite... (should have let kyle in- should have let kyle in)

I think someone has sung that song before and maybe it was on CDN Idol? It wasn't well received. It's way too cutesy. I can almost feel that El Chpacabra snapping at my toes just discussing it.
Perhaps. I was just hoping to see Simon either burst into flames or morph into El Chupacabra on live TV. It would be a ratings bonanza for Fox.

Lyle Lovitt isn't handsome but he's popular. He's cute in his own right I suppose. Oh and there is KD Lang. Very not hot but has a great voice.

true, simon could sign kyle up, but he is used to getting his own way and I think he is mad at randy and paula for not letting kyle in.

KD has a phenomenal voice. So does Brother Lyle. Of course, I admire Lyle because he is a fellow motorcyclist, a fellow Texan, and was married to Julia Roberts. Love some of the stuff he did with his "Large Band".

how about the three judges are sitting at the table. all of a sudden, randy and paula walk over to the stage and start singing 'breaking up is hard to do.'
sinon sits alone at the table..... his eyes start to glow.... sparks fly from his hair- all if a sudden a terrific explosion is heard.... the water sprinklers are activated, the entire audience is drenched... ryan suddenly comes on the stage and says that he is sorry, but the rest of the show is canceled!!

I liked it better than you I think. I just made Brooke my favorite of the females. She sang Your So Vain as well as Carly Simon and that is hard to do. Don't worry Taylor Hicks she will be around I think til the final 12 for sure.

Best performance of the night. I loved it. Simon will say she is not a rocker and it wasn't the right song for her is my prediction.
Edit I am glad to say I was wrong but I was kind of right because Simon only liked it because it wasn't done as rock n roll as the original.

I used to favor Karly. She is more my type of singer but I am now backing Brooke. She is simply the best of the ladies. I still have love for Karly but she is outgunned.
