If we've learned anything from past Idol winners- Country music is a great place to deploy an Idol (see: Carrie).
She'll have to demonstrate some depth in the Hollywood round to survive, though. We saw some great country singers in AI6 auditions that got eaten alive when asked to sing pop or soul in Hollywood.

I agree it must have been very difficult maybe she will be able to buy it back if she wins...or even gets a hit song or CD like Daughtry or Kellie Pickler did in their season...

The Unchained Melody girl was GREAT!!! She did such a good imitation of Britney! Loved that. Plus, she is attractive and talented, so she should do very well.
I don't know if you guys have heard about the attempt to start a rumor that Kristy Lee Cook has a striptease video, but it is false. The website that started it even admits that it is not true. Just passing the info along.

I finally got to hear her performance.....Now I know why she sang Amazing Grace twice....I think that's the only song she sings really well......Truly a pitiful performance....I hope she's able to buy her horse back....

MUCH better this week than last. Don't think she's at the bottom of the pile.

I sense more green-eyed jealousy in all this anti-Kristy stuff. I'm sorry girls, she's gorgeous, and the guys will keep voting for her until they're are more pretty girls than can be all voted for. I thought she was much better this week (healthier I guess). She has a very pretty voice to go with the face and body!

This is great advice and I did it all! Of course, that was my point. It's just a show and not a very good one, but keeping the lookers in the contest really helps the reatings.

A few girls already have been sent home and they were attractive but you are right to a degree. The best looking gals will last a wee bit longer but if they can't match the vocals with their looks they will eventually be toast. With that foxy guy that sings the Doors he sounds flat to me, IMO, so I won't miss him when its his time to leave!

Notice that this is the year of the pretty people. Better looking contestants are always privileged, but I suspect that Fox sought to pack the competition with lots of pretty people of both sexes.
Yeah, last season so many people made fun of Melinda and her appearance. Almost no one could offer a solid critique of her voice. If Melinda looked like Sabrina Sloan she likely would have won........ Ah, but what if.................

I sound wishy washy on this but in Melinda's case she wasn't taken serious perhaps because of her looks but she wouldn't have went as far as she did if she had great looks with a so so voice.
I hope she will be a huge success in the near future.

I have the green eyes, but I am not jealous. I really just think she is boring. I get that she gets a hot chick vote, and that is fine, but I really don't get the hype. I feel the same way about Brooke. Both are very pretty, but really boring.

I find Brook pretty boring. She's got a nice voice but not good enough to win AI.

That is just not true....Look at some of the other mega artists.......for example Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Amy Winehouse ( not a mega star yet), Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, etc. I have always said we listen with our ears and not our eyes.....
