sorry piano hottie, my advice buy a Korg Triton ASAP, they will make you sound like an Angel playing for God. But don't forget about concentrating on fundamentals FIRST. The triton is so hot it can make you lazy. Learn the classics first that will prepare you for any type of music later. When I was in my earlier phases, I forced myself to learn some real hard Mozart Piano Concertos and it paid off big time in my over all playing now, which is in a rock band. Send a pic if your hot.

I began reading this thread because I had to see if Aztec was being sarcastic, as my gut told me he was. I have laughed at some of the more moronic statements, thank you Falseidol for the fabulous picture and the stereo comment.
As I continue to read, though, I find that others appear to share my questions about what kind of contest this is. If it is based on voice alone, I think there would have been some different outcomes. For instance, I think the black girl who finished 3rd during the 1st season should have beat out Kelly Clarkson. (Can't remember her name, but she went on to guest star on Boston Public for several episodes). I believe Ruben deserved to win 2nd season, based on his voice, but Clay has certainly been busier since, hasn't he?? I also believed Fantasia deserved to win, but as an illiterate, her success is limited until she's smart enough to make good decisions about her career.
I would have LOVED to see Bo win last year, just to shake things up a little, but I still believe LaToya London (is that her name??) had the best voice of the 4th season.
Of the 4 winners to date, is Kelly the only one who has experienced real success? I don't listen to country, and haven't heard anything from Ruben or Fantasia that has real crossover success.

Perhaps if you did a little research before just throwing comments out because you "think" they sound correct I wouldn't have to interject.

Carrie Underwood has had a successful debut CD, it's been on the Billboard Top 200 for 19 weeks. Her first single, "Jesus Take the Wheel" made it as high as #20.

But for Underwood to be considered a bonafide success, she is going to need to sustain those results with her followup CD, or win a grammy or two. Otherwise her "success" will be considered about as memorable as Clay Aiken (not very).

There are all sorts of genres of music. Right now, I've no doubt that there is a Hot 100 of TechnoDance, but that doesn't mean the chart toppers are successful or well known.

Maybe Underwood will have staying power in the country segment of pop music. If she does then you can label her a success. But right now she is just another pretty face with a hit record---but not a top 10 hit.

If Underwood hopes to enjoy any type of longevity this is going to be the key; she has to keep getting good material to record. There are plenty of female country singers who are prettier, sexier and more talented (Faith Hill, Shainia Twain, Leann Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Martina McBride) to name just a few and they all write most of their own material.

Yeah I know, but that's why most idols won't have longevity because they don't write, all real musicians can write and perform. But I disagree about her voice, I think she has a better voice than any of those chicks, although I love Faith and Shainia, Shainia also has Mutt Lange to help her though. (but don't accuse me now of being a closet.............C&W fan.)

I actually like the fake eyelashes, but keep in mind I am very very superficial. I do think she is hot, but not the hottest thing on the planet. And I don't vote on these things, but if I did I would vote for Kat or Chris. Although I think Kat is a better singer, would probably have to vote Chris to get a rocker, there has been too many chick singers win this thing.
