Tonight:

Chris: NO EYE MAKEUP!! YAY!! But what was up with your outfit? You looked like you stole one of Simon's boring shirts and put a vest over it... Anyway, your song more than made up for it. I'm so proud that you showed your more sensitive side and you managed to pull it off flawlessly. I didn't hear any bum notes. I think you're safe. What a wonderful world!!!

Paris: You're 17. Why did you dress like a stodgy librarian? You looked OLD. It was technically okay, but not really my style. I don't know what it is about your voice that bugs me. I guess it's really just a foolish thing.

Taylor: I loved your outfit tonight; the gray suit and black shirt just stood out, maybe because it matched your hair? Song started out slow, but the end was full of energy! Go, you dancin' fool!!! You send me into hysterical laughter, my man!

Elliott: I liked your pairing of the jeans and the blazer with the purple shirt... but I wouldn't have worn the flower. I think your vocals were awesome! Actually, I found that your performance tonight was the best yet for me. If anyone could have pulled this song off, it had to be you!

Kellie: I see you got your dress from Frederick*s of Hollywood. I'm glad you had a good pair of shoes. Your vocals were all over the place.... a flat here, a sharp there. Were you glued to the floor? I didn't see anything from you; you just stood there like a freakin' log. It was boring, and by your very own admission, you shredded the song. You definatelly left me (not)bewitched, (but)bothered, and bewildered.

Ace: What was up with your greasy-headed ponytail? You seriously looked like the quintessential used car salesman tonight. Or maybe you were going to a funeral, wearing that suit? Your vocal was trembly and nasal. You're supposed to sing from your diaphragm, not your nose! Do I need to say anything else? Nope, that's all.

Katharine: Beautiful girl, loved your outfit and the fact that your hair was pulled back from your face. You positively glowed! Definately the strongest vocals technically. Show-stopping performance... You hit it on the head! Keep this up, and you'll have no problem finding someone to watch over you!

Who should go home tomorrow?
Kellie, Paris, and Ace were the weakest performers tonight.

Don't agree? I'm sorry. I call it like I hear it.

I thought this was one of the better night's this season.

Kellie.. needs to go... why did she look sooooo old tonight?

My gal Kat did great... I really enjoy her.

I really would have only enjoyed the show more if Kellie and Ace were gone already!

Well, it's 10:55 on the west coast and I'm still burning up the phone line voting for Elliott! I used to vote for Bucky and now that he's gone all my votes go to Elliott. I just think he's got the total package .... a terrific voice, unusual looks and a totally humble and unassuming nature. I think it would be awesome to see someone win AI5 that doesn't fit into the "Hollyweird box". I think his physicial "flaws" make him more human to me and I'd like to see the underdog rise to the top.

I agree that Kellie needs to go! In my opinion, she's just totally annoying. Ace needs to go, too. He seems likes he's trying too hard. I didn't care for his hair pulled back like that at all.

Paris, well, I just don't connect with her - Taylor either. I do like Chris but I didn't care for his performance tonight. If Katharine doesn't win this it certainly won't be for a lack of love from the cameramen! Geez, did they get close enough to her face tonight? She really knows how to ham it up for the camera. Just a little too slick and full of herself for my taste.

I hope the bottom three are: Paris, Kellie and Ace - and Kellie goes home. Couldn't we just vote off the whole bottom three???

Well, ask your Daddy to install a few more phone lines and then you can cheat that much more with your voting each week.

Tonight:

Kellie: I see you got your dress from Frederick*s of Hollywood.

LOL. Is this a diss or a compliment? Or were you comparing it to something of your own? :D

Looks like I agree with Musiclover on most accounts:

Chris: I was glad to see Chris lose the eye makeup. This guy showed everyone tonight why he has probably the potential to win it all. I found that, in this particular performance, he was just a tad sharp here and there, but there is no question that this dude can sing. He is also perhaps the most versatile contestant. He knows how to incorporate his own style into each week's theme, but he also knows how to incorporate each weeks theme into his performance. A true showman. Song choice was good for him, he dressed the part, and he aced the vocals almost effortlessly.

Paris: Wow, I think this might have been Paris' "moment." This is where I disagree with you, Musiclover... but I CAN tell you what it is that bugs you about her voice... it's the low range. We're used to squeeky little 17 year old Paris' talking voice, then the low range notes just don't seem to be her... like she's trying too hard to sound like her grandma. On this night, I have to agree with Randy. Absolutely, by far, her best performance ever on this show. She looked extremely poised and comfortable. She was IN her element and didn't once look mechanical. In her past performances, she has seemed like she was trying to hard to play to the theme. I like that she just stood there behind the mic, with a classy outfit and did what she does best... sing. Honestly, that is all she has to go on... her vocals. Tonight, I think they worked for her. Unfortunately though, her "moment" might have come a little too late.

Taylor: He did a fantastic job of throwing everything he had at us, all in one song. Nice and easy with smooth vocals in the beginning, then he ramped it up to the Taylor we all love (or hate, depending on your own take). Another good showman. He was in his element, he dressed the part, he had near perfect pitch throughout the song, and he put everything he had into it. For me, he still hasn't topped "Takin' it to the Streets," but I was definitely entertained.

Elliott: His main problem is the intense competition that he's up against. He has undoubtedly improved immensely since the top 24 were selected. I just don't think he's developed the fan base that the others have. And it's a damn shame, because he really can sing. He's never pitchy, he's overcome any nerves that once prevailed in his earlier performances, and he's just as deserving as any of the other contestants. I'm rooting for him, but I just don't think he'll be around for the top four.

Kellie: Well, we could actually see her in the bottom three this week. I totally agreed with Randy and Simon on this one. Definitely pitchy, definitely boring. Boy, and she threw in a couple of classic Picklerisms to boot. Absolutely a mediocre performance compared to her predecessors in this episode.

Ace: He reminded me of that dude from Karate Kid III... you know the antagonist dude with the slicked-back hair and pony tale... character's name was Terry Silver, played by Thomas Ian Griffith (see pic below).

http://www.colonel-alumni.net/IdolMe/terrysilver.JPG

Anyways, kudos to the fashion people. Ace's outfit was pretty sharp. Simon hit it on the head. "It wasn't bad." But in my opinion, it wasn't good enough. He was definitely pitchy, especially on the last note. Can't be pitchy on the last note. He'll be in the bottom three. He and Kellie are the two remaining contestants I believe should've gone before Gideon.

Katharine: She, without question, is the best vocalist this season, period. The best range, the best control, the purest tone. And she's so easy on the eyes too! If I had to guess right now, who will win it all, it'd be her.

I'd love to see a final four of Chris, Taylor, Elliott, and Katharine. It's just so hard to make an accurate prediction because there are so many factors involved: Votes shifting from the fans of eliminated contestants, each contestant's fan base, and sometimes America just does wierd things.

I'm thinking the bottom three will be Elliott, Kellie, and Ace, with Ace going home. That is, unless the Frank nation takes heed and keeps dialing IDOLS05 and IDOLS06.

Oh, and the karate kid allusion? That was hilarious.

Absent, You make everything seem okay somehow. You definately summed up Katharine's performance in a way that I couldn't. I groped for the words to describe her voice, but at 11-something last night, I just couldn't do it! I still think Ace looked like the greasy used car salesmen you see on tv. :p

This is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with YOUR bottom 3 - that's what it SHOULD be - but, I think Kellie might have enough fans (who voted) to keep her in the competiton. In Kellie's place, I think America may put Elliot in the bottom 3 - AGAIN - but hopefully not!

Bye bye Missy Paris ... no more helium 'think you' to the judges!

I think Chris and Katherine should be finalists; I think Ace and Kellie will be finalists. I love Taylor and Elliot the best.
