Here are some changes for season 7:
Singers will be allowed to showcase their other musical talents, such as guitar playing.
Fewer “mentors” (think Diana Ross and Tony Bennett) - apparently they took too much attention away from the contestants.
Next summer, the “Idols Live” tour may be combined with the “So You Think You Can Dance” tour.
The Hollywood phase of the show will include something different this year.

I don't know if I like the guitar/instrument thing. It tends to take away from us hearing the purity of the singer's voice, no? It's kind of distracting. I like to hear the acapella auditions. That's how I get my opinion of the person's voice.
I like the idea for the competition but not for the auditions. :)

yeah... I'd rather they just sing as well. I'm guessing not too many play.. but who knows.

Actually, it might be kind of cool. I didn't know Jordin played guitar, until I saw footage of the Idols Live Tour.
But really, the only thing that's important, is if the chicks are hot, and they can sing.

Anything to break up the monotony. Blake was the only thing that did that last year.
BTW, Rush, your signature with Jordin and Kelly is gorgeous. They both look stunning.

I like the idea of them playing there instruments...Taylor plays a mean harp and Guitar..Bucky and Daughtry both play the guitar as well this will bring some added entertainment value to the show!!!!:boldblue::boldblue::boldblue:
I'll be happy if they'll focus on finding talent this season instead of giving us a freak show during the auditions. I probably won't watch the auditions this year since the ones from AI6 were so lame. But there was a serious decline in overall talent from AI5 to AI6. If it gets much worse I think I could take the title.

I am certain you could take the title regardless!!! I agree that AI 5 was by far much better than AI6!!!!!
Maybe they should make them all do one performance in 'mime'? :cool:
