Is It Fair To "Slam" Contestants Families?

I do not think it's nice nor funny to slam the contestants family members, especially a child, such as Kellies little brother. I think alot of you know my position on Kellie, YUCK, but that little boy does not deserve the "jabbs" he's getting. I can take any jabb and certainly don't mind giving a few but does anyone agree that this shouldn't be done to these family members? :(

The little boy is not deaf nor mute as someone suggested on this forum (jokingly, of coarse). He is clearly very shy, and most would be with a camera man trying to "put you on TV". Some say Katharine is shy and thats why she acts so silly sometimes, but yet a little boy is made fun of and it seems no one comes to his rescue. From now on I will!!

False…I generally enjoy your unconventional outlook and can even appreciate your inciting style, but when you target a child, any child, it’s just cheap, perverse, deviant, mean, and unnecessary. I think you could direct your obvious wit and contentious humor to a more appropriate and worthy target.

I don't agree at all with picking on the families of the contestants. It's the Wannabe-Idols that have exposed themselves and their families to scrutiny by deciding to appear on this show. Especially people like Kellie who insist on talking incessantly about their families, their pasts, etc every week! And, BTW, Don't take False too seriously... He may have a crude way of joking sometimes, but it's just that - Joking. He's just unconventional and some people can't comprehend that.

I started a thread yesterday "is Kelli being exploited". Personally, I thought the grandfather and brother put Kelli in a good light, with a sense of obligation to family members.

But, if it's being done for ratings for AI, not for the candidates themselves, it isn't good. We want to know more about the candidates, of course. But it probably shouldn't be part of a singing competition.

In the UK, we have a similar show to idol called the X Factor, and the winner of that, Shayne Ward has had his family gone through the shredder, BUT his dad is in prison for raping and old age pensioner, and he has a brother in prison on a murder charge, so I guess in those circumstances, its acceptable
