I think that it's pretty hard to claim simple naïveté anymore. So either she's genuinely dumb, or she's a bad actor. "Ballsy?" anyone? "On Paper?" anyone?
You can still like her, but it's sad to see all these people being snowed by her.

As for #1. "Door Knob Dumb"? No way, she's as smart as a fox.
As for #2. Absolutely she is acting, there are enough websites with info stating that she is very intelligent and well spoken. She is conning people and they are buying it.

I think it's hard to say if it's an act or not.

What has helped her is all the poeple talking about her (buzz marketing/conversational) and getting to know her personality. I some ways I feel if people got to see more of Mandisa's personality she would still be around.

Sure she may come off as dumb as heck but people can relate to that.

I'm in the third camp--The "Who Cares?" camp. I'm really beginning to find her...boring! I've come to expect her to say or do anything (except sing exceptionally well) to gets votes and when she delivers it each week I find myself yawning.

To me she has become the non-contestant, someone the guys vote for because she's eye candy and maybe the stupid act/not act makes them think they could have a chance with her. Either way, I gotten to the point I just don't care. I rate her last of the remaining women--Katharine's got a big voice and Paris has youthful exuberance and talent--Kelly is fast becoming just plain bland.
