DISCLAIMER: To all the Ace fans, don't take this personally. It's my opinion, and I'm entitled to that.

I thought it was messed up that the contestants had to watch these sappy-we-love-you-OhGOD-I'm-gonna-cry home videos and then they're forced to sing. I felt so sorry for Elliott. He was very visually touched by the video, tears streaming down his face, and Seacrest handed him the mic and said "Here, buddy, sing a song." Sing what? "Follow the band!" I know from personal experience from singing at a funeral that it is dang-near impossible to sing and cry at the same time. I truly felt sorry for the guy. Really sorry. Maybe AI was going for Shock Value, and they surely pulled it off, at the expense of Elliott's emotions. They could have at least pulled Ace out first, since he was totally fine, except for those barely visable crocodile tears (I don't even think he was, is fact, crying. I think he was hamming it up to the cameras. He wiped his eyes a few times but his eyes weren't red and I didn't see any tears in his eyes.) How pathetic. :pi_cry:

ps - It doesn't help that everytime Ace opens his mouth to sing, I equate it to hearing fingernails on a chalkboard. He tries to be sexy, but it ain't workin' for me... His voice is just weak and sounds whiny, and really irritates me to no end.

Yes, I totally agree, Elliot has been throught a lot and it didn't make sense for them just to put him on the spot like that after Ryan made them point out he was crying. Ace should've went home last night, not Bucky, Bucky sounded way better than Ace and if you think about it, Bucky sang better than Ace through the whole competition. Ace sounded a mess and he didn't even sound good during auditions and when he went he Hollywood, he sounded horrible and Simon was like it was really good. He can sing low key songs and that's it, the way everybody can sing really slow songs, that's what he can do and that is not good enough if you wanted to be on American Idol.

Ok we get that you don't like ace but to suggest that he was faking his tears just for the cameras is ludicrous - just becuz he didn't have tears streaming down his face does not mean that he didn't become emotional after seeing his family in the video - you really have no idea whatsoever what he was feeling at that moment so to suggest otherwise is downright pathetic!!!

What do I miss most about not being home, Ryan? The mountains! Oh yeah, and those people I used to live with. Hey, wanna see my scar again?

If you look at Ace's video he really didn't have anything to cry about. His brothers were basically sitting there saying Ace was a punk and they use to beat on him!!!! They didn't sound sad or supportive, they sounded jealous and evil. If anything he should of been embarrassed. I mean even his mom said he learned to run fast to get away from getting beat on. How did his family think this was going to assist him or give him the strength to go on? His family was a big DISAPPOINTMENT. I think his tears were real, but they were probably a result of everyone around him crying and pure embarrassment. I can totally understand why he didn't say he missed his family.:boldred:

You obviously are the only child, or else you were raised in a closet. Sibilings do that to one another. And the look on his face was not of embarrassment, but probably from being homesick. You people are amazing, you know that? And don't take that as a compliment, if you do then you obviously have some mental problem.

I have two older siblings and well... They don't do that. My brother used to mess around with me and stuff, but that's it. Anyways... Stop shouting at people for their opinion. It's their outlook on things and just because it's not how you would like it to be, deal with it. And there's this thing called 'insight' that people have where they can understand emotions and such without even going through it. Deal with the fact that they aren't like you and move on. Just because you like Ace doesn't mean everyone else has to.

Anyways... His performance of 'We Will Rock You' sucked. He might have made it his own, but it was the WORST way to make it his own. I'm done ranting now.

There's nothing wrong with sibilings doing different things to one another, he's still young, and my brother does the same thing with me, because of the way we were raised. We joke around and we'll probably always joke around.
We're all sarcastic, so that's probably why, but I think it's stupid that people say his family is a dissappointment. That has to be the rudest comment I've ever heard. If anything they were there for him.
You can't watch ten seconds of his family talking and think that you have the whole affect. Knowing AI the producers probably cut a bunch of stuff out of it.

Right on girl, you got it, he not only sounded like a total whimp, he actually asked the legend Brian May to change the most recognizable rock song (not to mention drum beat) in history. I mean what is a more recognizable beat than boom boom bah, boom boom bah. It is only played at every sports event in the world, and the little peice of %$#@ wanted to change the beat to some hip hop Bull $#^@ what a moron, if he doesnt go next week someone should put poison in his baby bottle. Maybe we can get his brothers to do it. Peace Out.

They should've had enough respect to realize that Ace was doing it because he's trying to show his 'talents' and make it to the top. I don't think they even cared because if they did then they would have agreed to help the guy out. All Ace tried to do was make it his own, not change history. Many other contestants have done the exact thing.
Once again, it's American Idol, not a freakin' tribute to Queen.

The only way they could have helped ace out was to cut his tongue out so he couldn't sing anymore. If you don't think it is ludicrous to try to change the most recognized drum beat and rock anthem of all times you should go home and listen to your culture club collection. Jack-$#@

I do agree that Ace should have gone this week. His rendition of "WWRY" was off key and even if it were on key, wasn't that convincing. While Bucky was no Sinatra or Pavorati, he did better than Ace. But given we'll have Rod Stewart to muddle through next week, I can see him surviving yet again.

Your totally right, Bucky was no super talent to say the least, but atleast he did a half $#@ job, Ace was, well Ive said enough, as long as AI has 20 million little girls out there Ace is unfortunately going to go far on his looks, don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's a good kid, he just shouldn't be trying to make a living at singing, maybe he can spring board into being a model, but if I have to hear his whimpy @#$ voice one more time, I'm going to cut my ears off like Vincent Van Gogh. That's pronounced Van GO for all of you Ace fans. Peace Out.

I don't think Ace is a 'bad' singer. I don't like his vocal style as I've said before. But when he's singing a song within his range he's not too bad. When he goes outside that he tends to fall apart fairly quickly. The Rod Stewart 'elevator music' theme should give him ample opportunity to find a song that fits for him. He could do well next week. But his rendition of "WWRY" should have had him on a plane back to Colorado.

Since when can Christians NOT have an opinion? Oh, maybe I should have said "Bless his heart, but if I have to hear him sing one more time I'll go deaf." Whatever, chica.

God gave man an ingenius brain capable of many complex thoughts, emotions, and opinions. If we as human beings didn't exercise the gifts God gave us, then religion as we know it today wouldn't even exist. So, therefore, I have a God-given right to have an opinion.

PS - Read this in my original post: "DISCLAIMER: To all the Ace fans, don't take this personally. It's my opinion, and I'm entitled to that."

Hey this is not about being a nice Christian, I am too, but in the music business you have to express your opinions in a brutally honest way, I'm not saying this to be mean (maybe I have been too mean) but, Simon has the right attitude in his criticism. You have to tell it like it is, because it is sooo difficult for even the very talented to make it in the music industry, that's why Simon doesn't want to waste his time unless the talent level is exceptional, although it is partially his fault he is ending up with this lame final 7. (Minus 1 or 2 K and C)

LMAO Aztecgoods, you're so stupid. I swear.

If you have a problem with what I say give me some specific criticism, don't just say I'm stupid. Are you honestly going to tell me you think Ace has the best VOICE out of the group? If he looked like the elephant man I bet you wouldn't be saying that? Maybe I've been too mean to Ace but I think you have to be brutally honest in making these assessments. I'm sure he's a good person, but that's not the issue here. It is who is the most deserving SINGER.
