from his myspace
Thank you soo much for the add... I met you in NYC at the Village Underground and you BLESSED ME SOOO MUCH!!!! Pray all is well..
Nice! If you remember I did mention that the stage was rushed when he sang at the Underground! (some more of that somewhere here... being approached by various ppl and getting phone numbers, and speaking about 'being so encouraged'. Oh, I know - it would all be in his blogs.
Anyhoos sorry haven't been around, but family sometimes intereferes!! You know?
Strange, that...
btw if you go search youtube for Saltwater, Crazy (by traxmaxl), Midnight Hour and others you'll get some fun things. He's turned these present gigs into like a gigantic party. The brothers are trying to outdo each other with family stuff - like brothers usually do.

Now that Guy is touring with Stax, he can dress like the Blues Brothers. He would look just like Jake Blues.

No wonder he's being sold as one of Australians greatest vocalists.. this is incredible! What a range. And that other poster is right. THAT is not falsetto - that's a set of pure notes

and new concerts ")
and just in case anyone's bored...
Guy can sing hi, and sing lo
Actually, his hi's here are way below what he can actually sing. The sweetest berry on the Oh Oh single is SUPERB!! and unbelievable.

We will get it a bit later by DVD, but worth waiting for.
Guy and I spent 3 hours at the Stax Museum during the session days with the film crew. You will be seeing some of that soon, I think.
Everyone here thinks Guy is one of the best individuals we have worked with in a long time. We all had such a great time together.

Steve Greenwell has added a mention of Guy and his album to his Myspace blurb. In fact Guy is the first person he mentions (found by Adelaide)
About me:
I work out of my studio in NYC. Check out my pics. I work with signed acts and I'm always helping to develop unsigned artists as well.
The new live room is finished. It's excellent ! ... and the studio is back up and screamin' Mixing Guy Sebastian. Aussie Idol winner. This is his 4th record. Produced by the legendary Steve Cropper, this "live" record was rocked by some of the guys from the Stax records, house band. Coming out great, and Guy is a terrific singer.

We're talking like MAJOR engineer here, and he has Guy's pic right near the top of his friends on his myspace apparently. So pleased - and touched - that all the people involved have really enjoyed Guy and his voice, although I don't think Steve met Guy. That would have given an added touch.
A rather hardboiled type ex-Triple JJJ radio type now working for ABC radio interviewed Guy today - and left us with no doubts as to what her personal thoughts on him were.

Guy Sebastian Visits Perth
1points Posted 3 days, 17 hours, by RodneyOlsen
He was the original Australian Idol. His three albums so far - Just As I Am, Beautiful Life and Closer To The Sun -have all gone platinum or multi-platinum.
Now, as he gets set to release his latest album, Guy Sebastian has found his groove and he's very likely to gain an even wider listening audience.
While his mates were listening to New Kids On The Block and Pearl Jam, Guy was playing classic soul hits from the likes of Otis Redding, Al Green and Wilson Pickett.
On The Memphis Album, Guy has put his own stamp on the soul music he loves so much.
Guy Sebastian was my studio guest at 98.5 Sonshine FM during my morning programme yesterday and we talked about his latest project.
The track list on the album is full of classic soul music, all originating from Memphis. It starts with Soul Man before heading into Hold On I'm Coming, In The Midnight Hour and a bunch of other classics including Knock On Wood, Respect Yourself, (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay and Under The Boardwalk.
The wonderful thing about the album is that Guy enlisted the help of top soul musicians such as Steve Cropper, Donald “Duck” Dunn, Steve Potts, Lester Snell, Dave Smith, Rick Steff, Jim Spake, Kirk Smothers, Scott Thompson and Howard Lamb. Many of these musicians wrote and recorded the original versions of the songs on the album with the likes of Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Al Green and Wilson Pickett and were members of the MGs, playing with Booker T, and the Blues Brothers Band. Steve Cropper, who co-wrote In The Midnight Hour, Knock On Wood, and (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay, also produced the album with Guy.
Even more exciting was the news that when Guy tours Australia in March next year those guys will be his backing band.
Guy travelled directly from the airport to our studios as the first stop on a punishing promotional schedule. He had another ten interviews to complete during the day. That was after spending Tuesday in Melbourne completing around twenty interviews. So much for the glamourous life of a rock star.
If you want to listen to what Guy had to say during the interview you can click here to get a download link for the mp3.
mmm not a whole lot of help
