You know I hate to say it but while there are clear frontrunners in the votes department (Chris, Taylor, and Kellie) I fail to see a real leader "talent-wise". It's more like seeing a bunch of talented people that are all missing pieces that each of the other contestants have.

Chris and Katharine are both brilliant blends of vocal ability, and attraction but I find Chris too one-dimensional and Katharine needs to loosen up and have fun up there.

Paris is a complete performer if you remove the attraction factor, but I agree with Simon- it's just weird to see her up there. Her versatility is more like indecision, and some areas I don't want to see her go, she goes.

Elliot has made it clear that none of the men left can compete with his vocals. But that's all he's shown. The AI marketing machine could make him more commercially appealing, but they have a lot of work to do.

Taylor is entertaining but he's all over the map. When he's good, he's good, but when he's bad he makes me question why we've never let him slip into the bottom three. Having him excel vocally almost means having him sing the same 4 songs over and over, and I don't want to watch that either.

Ace and Kellie are, well...the reasons I hate AI right now. Both are horribly overrated, both make horrendous song choices, and both are quite limited vocally. If I wanted to watch attractive young adults with mediocre talent I'd watch ANY OTHER SHOW on FOX. Pack these kids and send them over to the set of "The OC", because the rest of us are trying to have a singing competition here.

Chris is the best contestant in my opinion, totally prepared to record a great album and make a tour. He has an amazing voice and also great attitude and performance on stage. It is not true that he is only able to sing rock (he proves in previous weeks that he can go beyond it). He knows what he wants, and he is being coherent with his musical roots. I think that it is a very positive point, and does not mean that he is not able to sing other kind of music.

I also think that Taylor is 100% ready, but he has a different style, more "bluesy" and "jazzy" than the others... but unfortunately I doubt he manage to get the votes needed to be into the final 2... but I love his musicality!

Paris has a powerful voice, allways in tune, and I love her energy. And she is only 17!!

Kat can sing a lot, but she is very technical... I agree that in the last weeks her singing was one of the best, but sometimes it lacks emotion...

I love Elliot's voice... maybe the best in this season. For sure I will buy all his CDs, but I am not sure if I will be motivated to go to his concerts... The performance on stage is really his weak point.

So, in my opinion Chris is the best contestant left. But I will also be happy to see Taylor, Paris, Elliot or Kat at the finals. All have potential and talent.

But I do not think that Ace or Kellie deserve to be at the finals...

Ace is a good guy, with a good voice, and due his looks he will easily become a pop star. But sorry, I do not think that his voice has the same quality and range of the other contestants, and his performance on stage is just ok (he is often nervous and shaking).

And Kellie for me is only a copy of Carrie Underwood: both have similar voices (but Carrie sings much better) and styles (skinny blond naive country girl).

I Love Elliot. I think he has the most talent and versatility, but for some reason America doesn't love him with me.

I like Katharine. I know she seems like a snob and lots of people are complaining, but she can sing.

Ace, nice to look at, hits some good notes, but not talented enough to be in the final two.

Kellie, although she did good this week. I'm still not sure why she is still there. She is pretty, but this is not a beauty contest.

Chris, same sound every week, getting bored with him.

Taylor, same as Chris.

I just don't see any star power in any of these kids, except for Kat and maybe Chris, I'm not saying anyone else's opinion is not valid but anyone who thinks Ace has star power has taken too much acid in the 60s. I wish everyone who wants too could make a living at music but it is very very dog eat dog, got to be great to really have a chance, (although I know there are plenty of examples of where people with limited talent do make it) For breakfast I recommend strawberries, scones and a couple of naked strippers,

Best entertainer: Taylor

Doubt either will win though. Neither sings in a genre that would be a top seller of CD's. Winner will likely be Chris (Rock) or Pickles (C&W) as they're the top two selling musical genres now. The styles of Elliot (R&B) and Taylor (Blues/Soul) aren't leading the sales charts. They still do well, but Country and Rock pretty much dominate now.

Maybe Chris, you have to look at this thing outside of the box, yeah all of them can carry a tune and know how to (most of the time) sing on key, but this is supposed to be about someone extra special, not a decent kareokee voice. Ace should've gone home several times already, especially last week, Bucky was WAY better than Ace, loved the way he sang Fat Bottomed Girls. Its time for Ace to go, but due to Ace's looks, I'm worried about Elliott this week. Elliott can really sing, but he doesn't have a gimmick (such as Taylor - the only reason Taylor is there) - they need to help Elliott develop his "stage presence". Mandisa was HOT, totally wrong that she got booted so soon. Mandisa and Elliott have the most singing talent of the group.

Yeah I know, that's what I'm saying, not too thrilled with anyone thats left, I didn't see everyone or every episode, but I am guessing Kat was not the best out of everyone that went to Hollyweird. I didnt close my eyes or anything, but I did listen and tried as hard as I could to choose a contestant that was the best based on talent and not looks. But for me, it was still Chris and Kat. Although Ace really impressed me tonight. I thought he did a good job. Kellie and Elliott sucked as usual. Paris was boring and Taylor was fun, but I dont even remember what he sang, so it couldnt have been that good.

The band is supposed to follow (and keep up with!) the singer, not the other way around. They almost screwed up Katharine's song too. And she was even good last night.:beerchug:

Ace has about as much talent as a pile the Triumph INsult Comic Dog leaves behind, which could be more. Brian May's website shows the previously un-aired footage where Roger Taylor held ACE down and Brian May B#$%@ slapped him over and over until he promised he would no longer sing after he was tossed from AI) And Brian said AI cut the footage to make him look like he was rude to ACE. Wow, you're kidding me right? I have listened to all 6 songs now, and Tay and Elliott, I thought were amazing. Tay's song was by James Ingram, 'Just Once' - how come the Pickle got to sing Unchained Melody?? thats a song I've only ever heard by a male vocalist before... I've seen a lot more decent chick singers like Kat than Chris, just go to your local kareokee bar (if they have those in Deutchland) and you'll see. There is a Taylor, Kat and Elliot in every one, although some of the Kareokee singers I've seen are more impressive. Not that Kat is not a good singer she is, but so far that's pretty much all that has won AI, there needs to be a rocker dude win for a change. But if I were betting actual Deutch Marks oh I forgot Euros, I would bet on Kat to actually win.

Elliot won't win because Chris or one of the other idols are going to eventually get smart and put some wolfbane somewhere around Elliot (possibly on the mic stand) which will turn Elliot back into a regular guy, (from the wolfman) which will undoubtedly screw up his voice as well. Its just a matter of time.

Taylor was at his absolute BEST this week; even Simon had to give him his props, grudgingly as it was.
I would love to hear Taylor do Elvis' "Don't" -- my all-time favorite. Or how about one of his gospel songs? I am afraid Elliott will probably go next week; he barely squeaked by this time. The tragedy is, if you heard him on the radio you would appreciate his glorious voice. But the "Idol" is about more than just a voice...and I maintain Taylor has the whole package!!:boldred:

Actually, even at this late stage, it's hard to pick the "best contestant". In my opinion, they are all talented.

If we could just keep our feelings aside and decide objectively, which seems to be impossible right now, I figure there will be a split decision.

In previous seasons, TV viewers could see that one or two contestants were pulling ahead of the others. This time, it's too close to call.

The one who will win on the last day will be the one who will not succumb to anxiety, in total control of his/her voice, great showmanship, doesn't falter and move the people with a performance that will give them goose-pimples.

Right now, as I see it, anyone of them can trip over himself and get shown the door.

All I can say is good luck.

I loved the way Kat used her wardrobe malfunction which has become a legend on the internet. By wearing a dress with belts around the breast, waist, and knees, she played off the previous week's 'incident' in a witty way. One of the people on these boards made a little comment on seeing panty lines when she first appeared in the legendary yellow dress. Thank goodness! A flash of white when the final button popped was naughty, but not a 'Lohan Moment'. If dialidol was a reflection of the phone votes, then Kat must have received a big portion of the text vote. I suspect she brought a lot of new viewers to the show.

Chris may very well win, because I think the judges have already settled on him. But don't worry about Taylor; he will be as big as Clay, and who ever heard from Ruben again after he "won"?

I agree about the screaming not making one a good singer. If you take away all the visual effects, Chris doesn't have the versatility like Taylor. Taylor is exciting to watch and many people have become attracted to Taylor's performance and singing, not to discount his handsome self. Taylor is COOL!

I doubt that any of the final 4 have had any time to rest at all, they'll have been rehearsing this weeks songs all week. When Chris sang laying on the floor on Bocelli week, it was a whole different voice, he should return to that one, singing from his diaphram, not his throat, nobody's throat can stand that kind of punishment
