Kelly has announced she will be bringing her My December tour to Australia in March 2008. Given that Clarkson’s 2005 tour sold out in record time and that Clarkson fever is again at a high, these dates are certain to sell out.

she's certainly popular here. We seem to be getting major players touring all the time these days. Great - but it means some fans have to choose who they will see, rather than go to every artists show

she'll be on Sunrise, our premier morning tv program some time in the next few days I think - soon, anyhow

I read on the other forums, that her song, "One Minute", is a big hit in Australia.

bound to be. Not only are US artists feted in Australia but because of the big income they get from their sales (80,000,000 cd buyers in US as to 2,000,000 in Australia) they have huge promotions - big stands, lots of TV ads - all the stuff that the oz artists normally can't afford.
Which is why we're particularly excited about the proposed promotion for this Memphis album for Guy... apparently, its going to be HUGE and never been done before type promotion.
Other artists in Australia trying to make a go, and with such companies like Sony to back them - they pay out first, you (the artist) pay back out of your income) do specials like having dvds issued with the albums, single issued with the video, or with posters, with stickers (?? LOL - sounds like 12 yr olds) big stands, huge ads on tv, release again with more dvd, buy the album get the single free - have the cds at the gigs to sell (we SOOO wish Guy had those!!) As Guy has never had anything like that at all, we are waiting on tenterhooks for this promotion which has been hinted at.
And other things have been hinted at too - will keep you updated.
If I get anything over here on Kelly other than the norm, I'll let you know. (Last time she was here and touring, one critic said that she showed how a rock singer SHOULD sing - was not really happy with the support act. I do think its always hard to be a support act though - unless you are REALLY good. And I thought hers WAS good, however certainly not a "Kelly")

She'll be performing on Australian Idol next Monday.

And it looks like she's becoming a fan of the Australian football team, Geelong.

AWWW cmon, thats the winning team :)
Guy was going for his home town team of Port Adelaide, who got trounced. He will be really pleased it wasn't his actual team, which is the Adelaide Crows.
Kelly is on tonight. I don't know that my pc can load from my recorder. And we're out of cash to get the hardware for that. But if anyone wants a copy, I've recorded (I believe - since we've moved to this new you beaut place, I am having a few probs). Just yell, anyhow.
Great show tonight
:)
btw
will mention here for the time being
Guy has a tattoo!?? (He played football today too)

I think we should all go to Australia to see Kelly. It would be fun! Kind of like an IdolMe road trip only with planes. :D
Kelly is a great singer/entertainer. I like that she has stayed humble. I hated when the media was slamming her for being "fat". WTHell?? :(
It seems like anytime a "star" is over a size zero they get mocked. Stupid...
Prinia could show us all around and help us find all the good food places.:boldred:

I've always wanted to go to Australia. And, seeing Kelly would make it that much more fun.

LOL that makes me think of that movie Ace Ventura, with Jim Carrey. He runs into a girl from Austria, and tries to hit on her, using Australian terms. What a boob.

Jim Carey is hysterical. I LOVED him in Ace Ventura Pet Detective. :D
Remember the beginning where he is kicking that "delicate" box down the hall? LOL!! :D

Actually, that was in Dumb and Dumber.
Prinia, I don't follow Australian Idol, but I just saw that Guy, who I am assuming won Idol, is from Adelaide. My Dad was born there, and my Grammy grew up there. I have an aunt and cousin in Perth, and another cousin somewhere in Queensland. Where do you live?

I'm "somewhere in Queensland" LOL!
Originally from a tiny island state, Tasmania, down the south. But we have come up here into Queensland for the warmth, although South East Queensland is as high as I go. QUITE warm enough, in this weather.
You DO have a lot of connections over here. Did you notice there is the World Youth Day this July 2008 in Sydney? Should be an awesome time,
The organisers hadn't really got into the first songs offered as a theme song, so asked again - and Guy was one of the last 5 who wrote a theme song, and his was chosen.
