You are probably catholic because your father raised you that way. Religion is one of the things parents trying to instill in their children. However, religion is meaningless without faith, and you alone can choose that for yourself. So stop worrying about your religious affiliation and start looking into your soul and searching for what you truly believe.

No I am not my mom was changing Churches all the time usually all Christian Churches but the last straw for me was Unitarian and when I was singing a song taken from the Old Testament they told me not to sing that song because they didn't believe in the Old Testament now I am Lutheran.....

My family is catholic. I was brought up by my Grandmother who brought me up as one until I was the age to decide for myself what I wanted to do. When I was young I had to go to church with my family every Sunday, Made my confirmation and Holy Communion. But then when I left home was then given the chance to decide what I wanted to do. I still call myself catholic but I don't attend church unless it is a funeral or wedding. This is the way my whole family has been brought up. Given the chance to decide when they are old enough to.

No. You are what you choose to be. Some stay in the same faith as their parents even when they're stagnant and should be somewhere else.

My father was raised Methodist. My mom is a catholic. I left the catholic church because I was bored into oblivion.

I chose a non-denominational church because I am an on-fire-for Jesus Christian and that's the only place that can contain me. LOL! :D

In the Jewish religion it is passed through the mother. for instance, if your mother is Jewish, so are you.

But your religion is what you believe. You could have both parents one religion and you could choose another.

Your father being catholic does not make you catholic, I believe. You have to be baptised by a priest and be confirmed in a special mass.
