For me...It was Chris Daughtry.
He's normally pretty good...but he's been sucking BAD lately.
Last night he was so BAD...I started to cringe...as if someone
were scratching a chalkboard. :confused:

Chris' performance was pretty bad- but none of his fans will care- he'll sail safely through to the finals.
The worst performance I saw last night was Ace.
I'm a HUGE Queen fan. And considering their body of work, I consider "We Will Rock You" to be their most bland, least-vocally challenging song (yet dizzyingly famous) song that they've ever recorded. The song is pretty "brain-dead" by itself which is why it's generally only played as the prelude to "We Are the Champions." Freddie Mercury was IMHO one of the best male vocalists of all time and "We Will Rock You" would be the song I put on the bottom of a playlist for anyone who I'd wish to teach of his ability as a singer.
Couple that with Ace- Mr. live and die by his song choice, who made a contest-ending call here. Ace has a reasonably high range- he could have picked ANY other Queen song to display that range. Instead he goes for the monotonous, "We will, we will ROCK YOU."
Bad, bad BAD decision.
On the flip side of the coin- I was pleasantly surprised by Paris and Bucky. Both did excellent jobs on their songs.

ACE did pick a bad song for a singing contest.
But I thought he put a creative spin on it that made it sound slightly better than the original.
If he would have sang it the way it's normally sang...then it really would have sucked badly!

Ace did put a creative spin on "We Will Rock You"! That had to be my least favorite Queen song. Ace made it entertaining!
I would have liked to hear him sing "Your My Best Friend"! He would have gotten ALL the votes if he did that song. It would have been perfect for him!

I'm sure that would have upset the producers to no end----that would have meant having to end the show about two months earlier then they were planning. :D
Ace's performance was clearly among the weakest last night. But like the Energizer Bunny that many women thinking he is as cute as, he just keeps going and going and going....
Ace deserves to be voted off tonite but probably won't be.
Agree Ace had the worst performance. So I guess Pickles is safe yet again...

Ace just sucked it BIGTIME!!! Chris and Taylor really blew as well. Katherine, Elliot, and Paris were all good. Bucky suprised me too. For some crazy reason, I liked the Pickle's performance. I know, Hell must have had some snow...............
It might just be me, but was anyone else hoping for a suprise performance of "We are the Champions" from William Hung?
There are so many songs Ace could have done that would have been better suited to him than the 'chant' of "WWRY". Absolutely abominable song choice. If anyone at AI advised him to pick that they should either be:
A: Fired or
B: Congratulated (if the objective was to make him look bad)
I've not made it a secret that I don't care for Ace' vocal style, but his voice deserved better than that song.

Chris was definately the worst performance. I'm not a Chris fan at all, but I thought he would shine last night. He blew it. He picked a song that even the group didn't like enough to perform live, and then he sang it poorly. Ace was a close second. I knew he would suck though. I didn't like elliot's performance either.

Ew, definitely Katharine was the worst. I can't stand that girl. I like Kellie more than I do her. She's too broadwayish and she never shows her personality. I just don't like her.

I have to agree with the fact Katharine lacks a certain spark and that's why I don't want her to win, but she was on point last night considering the song she chose. Ace was the worst by far, honestly, last night, for the first time it was some decent performances all around minus Ace. That was the worst song for him to sing and really you don't even have to sound that good to sing that type of song, but he sounded horrible. I said it before, if it's not a slow, low key type song, Ace can not sing it and he made that clear last night.

ACE CAN SING!
Ace added his own artistic talent to the song!
He did a fabulous job! The song was not one of queens best, But Ace made it sound THE BEST IT EVER!!!!:)

I think Taylor and Ace were the worst. I think Elliott had his best performance but think he lacks connecting with the audience. I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor or Elliott go.

I totally agree that Ace deserved to go home after his Queen performance. Maybe all fans should be blindfolded so their not basing their votes on a smile.Get this guy a toothpaste or gap commercial . Maybe Pink is singing about Ace fans with her new hit song Stupid girls because this definitely should have been his week to go. They are / were probably also fans of Costantine. I'm not saying these guys are not great guys , but not the best singers.

Amen to that one Crystal although tonight, she said she is always nervous. Listening to Ace again tonight, he should have gone and Bucky stayed. He did not do that song very well, Elliot was much improved and confident then before and Kellie was ok but tonight she pulled a boner with the snot rag. I really do think that she will do good in a country comedy type show or TV show related to it. She is good at acting. She does make me laugh and the rest of the idols on stage cringe.

Ace has a very nice smile and he seemed to be very worried about the bottem 3 and he seems to have a nice family. He will have lots of support. I have a thought for Kelli Pickler. She would be very good in a show such as Hee Haw if any of you remember it, you are probably all too young. Buck Owens who recently passed on was the Host of that show.

I LOVE Kat.
You may not like her "personally", but I don't think you can deny her superior singing abilities.
If it had been for only singing, Kat and Chris would be tied in a gridlock.

I really like Chris and Elliott and I do not put Katharine talent with those two.
She's a looker and CAN sing but I don't think she's the best.

I guess we'll just have to see who's the "best" at the finale then.
Though I know Kat can pull off any song from any niche better than any of them.

I don't necessarily thing the winner has the best vocals, always. To me it's their personality, their style and their sound. Just a great voice would never cut it as we've seen in past idols.
Katharine may well be the next American Idol. She does have a great voice. I'll wait for that "gives me goosebumps" moment with her.

okay, okay, chris's performance wasn't his best, I admit. BUT, I think most of it was the song. It was absolultely HORRIBLE! I hated it. Chris has got to start singing some better songs. I especially would like to hear him sing more and yell less because he has the most beautiful voice!

I totally agree with you. I think Chris is awesome, but his Queen performance wasnt the best of the night. For me the best was Kellie. And I like the way Ace twisted his song a little.

Exactly, that's the only reason I don't like Katharine. If she had a personality I'd probably like her voice. But I don't even like people out there like Kanye West, however you spell his name, I did, but then I realized he was too c0cky. The personality sums it all up for me.
McFeverish.....

I also don't like Kanye West.
He was quoted in Playboy that their should be a Bible made for him! That was such a load of cock and bull.
I was like.."WTF, listen buddy...your sh** don't smell any better than ours"
~~~~~~~~
But I still don't see where you find Kat with no personality...but anywho....I at least agree with you about Kanye West...I can't stand the guy.
I actually fell in love with his rapping, and then all of a sudden I saw an interveiw with him, and just because he survived a car accident or something, he thinks he's one of god's lucious gifts... :rolleyes:
You should have seen "Mind of Mencia" a few days ago, where the host did a skit on Kanye's song Golddigger.
It was so hilarious.
Elliot may be good, but first he lacks stage presence. Secondly, I don't like his vibrato at all - I would never buy a CD of his for that reason alone. And the rest doesn't matter much to me because I can barely get past his vibrato to even think about how good he actually is. Maybe it's a shortcoming of mine... oh, well...
Ace was the worst performance, followed by Bucky, then Kellie. I don't accuse Kellie of being "fake," but her performance wasn't real to me. Getting on her knees and acting - she can't act... she looked like a little girl trying to play an adult part. I keep forgetting that Bucky is gone... I wanted to see one more week of him rather than Ace.
I do like his song Golddigger, but thats about it.
