If I am correct, everyone else sang some type of rock song tonight. Her vocals on the song were good and she looked nice, but I am sorry, she is not shy she is stuck on herself. If I heard right, when Simon said, the lights and such made her look nice, she said, "I know". Am I right or wrong. Pickler was okey tonight, I will not vote for Katherine at all!

Simon was commenting on the good job the lighting and camera guys did for Katharine and she was complimenting them also--I knew when I heard that comment, that Katharine would get bashed in this forum. I feel that she continues to get a bum rap about being stuck on herself and it is because of this very thing. Someone thinks they hear something and then everyone starts repeating it. At least you wanted to get it clarified first. So good for you Helen.

Everyone sang a Queen song tonight and so did Katharine--I personally thought that she sang hers the best.

Helen,
You are right, even though her voice was nice and I think it was a good song for her.........What's with her?

Any Katharine fans want to help us understand?

Why does it matter if Katherine is stuck on herself? I imagine most stars are.

I can see where some people thought that the remark was indulgent...BUT, if you were to replay the "whole" quote, what she said was "I know", then looked toward the camera crew, after a little giggle, and complimented them.

Hehe...I laughed when she did this because I knew she would get some remarks about it.

And as you can see, Kat truly is a goofball.

I don't think she even noticed how hyper, and jittery she started getting on the stage when Simon was critiquing her.

Kat wasn't trying to be a snob, because I think she knows better than to try to portray one, she just says "odd" things...at "odd" times.

And I still love her for it.

~~~~~~~~~
I have to say that Kelly, and Taylor did an awesome job tonight.
I was holding my breath when Kelly started to perform...but she wowed me....I LOVED her performance. She kept her voice stable, and strong throughout the song.
Taylor also did an awesome job.
I'm glad he changed his song choice...a very wise pick.
He was so natural up on the stage.
Wowser to all three of them!
I guess it is how you look at the remark, after Simons. Although don't you think she was still complimenting herself anyway? I liked her song and she did very well. If you thought that people may talk about that, then I do not think we are so far off track. She is a pretty girl. Why does Simon not like Paris. I do not like his tatics. I think that Paris has a voice, even the Queen people thought so.
You know...she really might have been complimenting herself, "trying" to hide her praise under that compliment.
I dont know for sure...it's probably different in different people's eyes, I just hope she wouldn't do that .
I didn't see any indulgence though.
That's what I got from her comment anways. ^_^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And the thing about Paris?

Yeah....you can definitely see his preference for Kellie, and some of the others.

When he critiqued Paris tonight, I thought his comment that it was "weird" was really stupid, and unconstructive.

He should have pointed out what he liked or didn't, but I guess that's how the ball rolls you know.

I think she did a very good job tonight, but that hair extension was really bugging me out. ^_^

I thought Paris did MUCH better than I thought she would. I thought Katharine did fine, I thought she looked pretty, and her voice was nice. Simply didnt like the remark. I think perhaps she was thinking it, but didnt mean to say it. It was a slip...........but still BAD, BAD, BAD.
Even liked the start and finish of Kellie's song, but didnt like the "rock" middle.

I thought Paris and Kellie were truly going to be roadkilled tonight.

They both proved me wrong, and I was impressed.

I was a little dissapointed in Chris though.

He's a wonderful singer...I just wish he would have sung something that fitted his talent....Like " We will rock you", should have freakin switched with Ace!

Ace totally crapped that one out :(

Chris would have done a much better job.

Helen,
You are right, even though her voice was nice and I think it was a good song for her.........What's with her?

Any Katharine fans want to help us understand?

I don't know if it's possible (or necessary) to change the opinions that some people have formed of Kat....Kat responded with 'Ya I do..' as a follow up to Simon's remark that Kat owed the AI lighting staff thanks for making her look so good...and Kat responded with 'Ya I do...' as in ' Yes I do owe them thanks...' not as in 'Ya I do look good..'

But frankly, if it gets down to having to explain, defend or help anyone understand...ever head shake; raised eyebrow; or verbal utterance that Kat makes...I don't think it's worth it, or possible...I just wonder how such micro-critics would do under similar scrutiny....

Anyway...it's all good...people are entitled to their opinion...but it’s like the ‘Glass half-empty vs half-full’ conundrum'…it’s just your perspective, your individual interpretation...but before anyone could 'help you understand' you would first have to provide a much more detailed explanation of precisely what Kat does that you object to; how you interpret what she does; etc.

You and I are neither right nor wrong, per se…we just have different perspectives….some people think Katharine is ‘stuck on herself…’ others just find her to be sweet, pretty and talented…and not ‘stuck on herself…’

Nicely said Idoleyes,
All I can say is that I didnt set out to look for these things, and since then tried to re-think it. We'll just agree to disagree. We will see in time because I do feel she will go far.

This competition has become stale. This group is by far the worst of any of the past seasons. They are all very vanilla. they all should be in the bottom 8.

I agree FRANK. Why is that? Most can sing well so why is everything so bland this year?

I really think this thread is funny. I have thought all the "Katherine is arrogant" threads were funny.
I grew up with three sisters and it reminds me of them and their friends sitting around talking about any new and pretty girl who came to school.
They didnt know these girls but they always called them stuck up or full of themselves. It is almost always women who bash Katherine in this way. Elliot is just as confident as Katherine but these same women never seem to bash him.
Keep these posts up though it reminds me of sittig at the lunchroom table in high school.

Really? Now I always enjoyed making friends with the new "pretty" girls. Actually most of my friends are very pretty, some are even beautiful. I dont however have any friends who act arrogant. Katharine is very pretty, I will not take anything away from her. I simply dont like the way she acts. It is the theory of some, that the only people who dont like Katharine MUST dislike her because they are upset with her looks. If she was ugly and I said she was arrogant, nothing would be said. PLENTY of men on this forum agree in some way about Katharine's arrogrance or disconnection.

In conclusion, Just because I dont agree with someones opinion, it doesnt mean there is something wrong with me, it doesnt mean I dont like "pretty" people. I voted for Kelly and love her. I voted for Carrie until it was down to her and Bo. Then I voted for Bo, and placed votes for Carrie at my husbands request. Both of these Ladies are beautiful, but dont act arrogant in my opinion.
Did you vote for these people? If not, were you jealous?

I never said anything about Kellie. I dont like her either. I said Kelly (C.)
IF Kelly C is arrogrant, she hid it well from me. If you think she is, thats fine, even great, but does that mean you are jealous? Probably not, and im not either.

I'm not a Katharine fan but clearly thougth she meant she agreed that the lighting folks deserved thanks.

She did okay, but for some reason I just don't get her. It's nothing specific. She has a good voice.

OK, I watched it again she said "Yes, I do, Thank You"
So she said Yes I do ( look great tonight).

All that being said, Yes She did look great but did I vote for her? No I didn't!
I didn't like the performance.

All I'm trying to convey is that she didn't say "Yes, I do" for the benefit of herself, but to thank the lighting crew on how well they made her look.

I was very much impressed with Kelley, Paris and Katharine Tuesday night. I had never much cared for Katharine, but thought she did admirably well. And as for Kelley and Paris....well they really knocked one out of the ball park!:beerchug:
