Freddie Mercury will be spinning in his grave around 8:10 eastern, 7:10 central. This show theme has train wreck written all over it. I believe that it will be entertaining, but not in the good way. Sort of like American Idol's funniest home video. I just don't see anyone being able to pull off the vocals. Maybe Chris, but he'll probably shout the lyrics and then have Paula say that he should be touring right now, and that he was TRUE to himself. QUEEN>>>LOL

You may be right!
Let's hope it'll be the opposite of past weeks, though. Hopefully, we're all getting nervous for nothing and our favorites, at least, will do the best they've done so far. It's kind of scary to think of what next week's theme will be - if it can get any 'harder'.

One thing everyone seems to be conveniently overlooking is that most Queen songs contain very intricate harmonies, so depending on the backing vocals every single Idol contestant has a chance to fail spectacularly tonite.

Someone mentioned in another thread tonite could turn out to be AI's version of America's Funniest Home Videos.

Agreed. If the contestants thought last week for country music's body of work- this week will prove especially challenging for those with less vocal control.

That would be me. I'm guessing that A.I. did this on purpose just so the singers would crash and burn. Other than Chris, the rest will butcher these songs by most likely changing the arrangements. It's Sinatra does Queen night.

You were so right, tinsong! Every one of them did better than I thought they would. Even Kelly! Of course, Taylor is our favorite still, right? He's mine! Go Taylor! I agreed with Simon on his comment to Chris - maybe that's why Queen never performed Inneudeo (?spelling) live.

You were right, although Kat has potential, Ace should see if he can go on a tour backing up William Hung, he should have been shot for asking Brian and Roger to change WeWill Rock U, what a moron, hope he goes home. Would be curious to see your thoughts on the new Paul Rodgers/Queen, personally I think its maybe the best band ever, the Return of the Champions DVD is probably the best show I have ever seen of ANY band, and I am a musician, so I know what I'm talking about. Lets hope Paul gets to sing with Queen tonight, show the idols what a real rock star is like. Peace out. Mark

But it was ok for Chris to sing stevie's song rocker style? The judges have always said two things 1. sing it better or 2. sing it different. If one of your favorites tried to change things up would it have been ok? If Queen had that attitude, they never should have been on the show.

None of the other guest had that attitude, they even helped them change it up. Queen is great, but makes them so special that they cant help someone do the best they can. I found it rude.

I could NOT believe how much more gracious Stevie Wonder, Barry Manilow and even Kenny Rogers was than Queen.
These Contestants are choking with the words "MAKE THE SONG YOUR OWN' rammed down their throats!!
And Queen was SO RUDE to Ace!!!
Queen, indeed should be ashamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woooooo, hold on guys, who are the rock stars here, Queen is one of the biggest grossing bands of all times, just recently surpassed even the Beatles in the UK. Ace asking Brian May to change one of the greatest rock anthems of all times is like asking Picasso to change Guernica so the people look real. I'm surprised they didn't put him in his place. He is lucky to be there. He SUCKSSSSSS, sorry girls, I understand he's a hottie, but this is American Idol, not Next Top Model, I've seen better singers at seedy Mexican restaurants. Stay tuned, if Queen gets to perform with Paul tonight, you'll see what I mean. After I saw Paul and Queen perform (DVD Return of the Champions) I seriously considered kicking my own singer and best friend out of my band, still thinking about it. American Idol has to have a Super Talent, not just getting by on your looks. Boy George could have done a more rock performance than that. Justin Timberlake was spinning in his grave, the freaking guy isn't even dead yet. Peace Out. Mark

All im saying is.....yes they have the right not to help, but then just say "no" when asked to be on the show. It doesnt matter who asked them, someone you think is good or not. If they were going to be on the show, they should have helped.
If not, stay home. I dont need to listen to them tonight, I already know how good they are. But Steveie is good too and he helped.

Queen is awesome!!!!
BUT not Picasso!!!
I am sure your band is great too and when AI calls you I hope you are much more GRACIOUS!
Paula, Simon, and Randy say constantly "Make the song your own". Queen knew that the contestants would be making changes. (If by chance they didn't, they aren't as sharp as I thought.):p

I think he made a huge mistake in asking Queen to make changes to their anthem. He should have sung it there way with them and then had the AI band make the changes he was looking for, if indeed he felt it needing changing.

I thought they all did good considering - but thought Taylor and Ace were the least best.
