aww that's so nice that you have put this here
Okay, worked it out... can I go get one of my favourite little things (LOL)

PS I am laughing at that one from the Basement - loving you! Is that the one where the girls are singing along? VERY funny - it was OUR lot, in the front row.
I myself was discreetly at the back that night, more or less :)
and I can't help myself because this is so funny (we come out of his gigs, not only having had a wonderful time but sometimes our faces are sore from grinning)
Lb9nuwgeTQM
This may not work properly (embedding?) but he is really "playing" with the band, and they're having fun back with him. We have a saying here, 'taking the mickey ' and that's exactly what Guy is doing ROFL!
Yup, no embedding allowed - so link instead

darn, I love that one above and the judges comments and discussions are simply amazing. No wonder he won the comp.
I HAD hoped to have this year's The Way You Look Tonight from Hamer Hall, with the Australian Philharmonic Australia
however its not there, so instead
Unforgettable, at Hamer Hall with the Orchestra (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsd58XCsy0Q)
especially for his father, who loves Nat King Cole's songs - did you know his father had won a singing completition in Malaysia years ago? And another uncle is a teacher, plus Uncle Larry, who is a pastor in Melbourne, is also a great voice

Did you ever see THIS version of "Can't Stop a River"?
Interesting in that he's 'conducting the band' because they're The Young Diva's band. Its last Christmas, and he actually has a major gig immediately after (which often happens - so many times he actually has double gigs particularly at Christmas time - last year JUST made the major Carols at Sydney and was still trying to get his battery properly on the belt when he took off across the stage).
Can't Stop a River Christmas 2006 - LOVE the interaction
btw Sadie, did you know Nicole Kidman is a HUGE fan of Guy's? She and Keith Urban came to his concert on the Saturday at the Sydney Opera House earlier this year

You're the Voice
John Farnham's big song - and if you are bored, get HIS on youtube. Fabulous, not retired as yet - he's done about 3 years of "Last Tours" LOL! Guy does a fantastic performance of a well-loved song and gets the audience going as well (as usual)

Ohhh my friend just sent me this one He will be on ABC TV tomorrow night (Oct 4, 11.25pm) LIVE AT THE BASEMENT, a great music gig in Sydney.
BE MINE
guys own song from his 3rd album Closer to the Sun (and HOW I love that song itself - I think the only reason they never released closer to the sun as a single was that it is the wrong time. Its heavily beatles influenced and an absolute STUNNER - but this is beautiful... take ure shoes off first, before he sings "Be Mine"

YouTube - GUY SEBASTIAN Hello
Hello - Guy's own arrangement of Lionel Ritchie's classic, with judges comments.
YouTube - GUY SEBASTIAN Hidden Agenda
Hidden Agenda the first song that night (hence the 'Fro comment in Hello).
YouTube - Guy Sebastian Wipolo / I Wish i.dol finale 2005
Wipolo / I wish from the 2005 Finale.
Why is there nothing from the 2004 finale? WHen he was the 1st Idol, and it was only the 2nd year of the comp?
Interesting topic, that. However he was touring bigtime, big venues but he was also in Sydney - whatever, he got 30 seconds in, the last 30 seconds of Waltzing Matilda the folk song that is Australia, as it were.
And the next day on TV stations and radio so many said it was the best 30 seconds of the night! I must see if I can get it, one day, and put it on there. He's really made for stage shows or movies, seeing that. The whole just LIFTED up into something different.

ALRIGHT!!!!!! This is the one they're all talking about. (just look at his "Always on My Mind" and this one, for comparisons, or "Saltwater")
THE MEMPHIS MEDLEY
and then imagine that BEING there, LIVE is up by about 50% - because he has this extraordinary voice which I don't really hear on any of the speakers at home, and we've got good ones - AND this stage presence - one you can cut with a knife. Heard yesterday someone went to see him in Melbourne, she was bigtime in the soul scene in the media, but these days is more into advisory stuff re media and she was stunned at his vocal range, the fact he seemed to be able to pick a key and sing in it, and his stage presence. She's completely 'sold' - as apparently is Steve Cropper and the boys, John Fry from Ardent, several of the ladies ( heh heh) from Ardent Studios AND Steve Greenwell.
And his arrangements.. He has ALWAYS been known for his arrangements, from the word 'go'

Cal's hens party night Guy is singing for her. As you can see, while he might be a marvellously Christian person, he's not 'stuffy' - which is why Andrew and James (the idol hosts) call him the coolest person in the world!
He does a huge lot of corporate gigs - so he's talking about getting lost in Shanghai!

Hiya THR
I'll send you a copy....
Here's two interviews
Guy Interview
Not sure who's doing the interview, but Guy is a sweetie in this one. Ummm I'm meaning, he's usually more down to earth. (see say David Tench interview on youtube - strange one that, because Tench is usually so bluntly rude)
So it would be interesting (but apparently impossible for us) to know who's doing the interviewing. But all the same, its a great interview.
Steve Cropper Interview
This is INCREDIBLE!!! Steve comments 'he's mind bogglin' ".
I mean, that's how we feel, but - so nice to hear a LEGEND say it. No wonder they're already mentioning another album and stuff... (except I know Guy wants his own stuff too, so its going to be an interesting next few years or five)
Gotta share this stuff with the world sez teensmum
just putting the videos where they should be.

----------------
You know the thing I REALLY love about youtube? (I get 900 offerings when I search Guy Sebastian)
It cuts the crap out of critical remarks (even though crap does occur as comments, but they're so easy to see through that its almost laughable - and naive. Oh, beware however, that there are pedaristic-type phishers who will target some).
Anyhow, for anyone who's feeling bored - and curious - here we go...
2003
Haven't included the lot - you can find the others there, easily enough.
Everything I Do judges comments His 2nd song in the top 12.
When I Get You Alone interview etc and no judging
Guy sings swing with judges comments and etc
THE Climb Every Mountain it wouldn't be right NOT to include this. Guy was so swept away that night, his friends, his whole family were there.. and he'd had to change his song unexpectedly because it turned out Shannon had got in before him with "Hey Jude" (see one of Guy's versions at the Opera House or Hamer Hall 2007 on youtube) - ANOTHER standing ovation
2004
Climb Every Mountain He still hadn't stopped rehearsing, performing, no family or friends support because he'd had to move to Sydney permanently. And all this BEFORE he was appearing overseas and doing all the Asia stuff and New Zealand, with his Angels going no. 1 everywhere there (also All I Need is You)
Kryptonite 2004 The look of those in the audience say it all.
Out With My Baby just back and into things. Cuteness. I guess all the stuff that happened, and didn't happen when it should have, worked as it should. It certainly made him far stronger.
btw - have you ever heard of such a thing?!!! Apparently - fans of one artist who shall remain nameless (but obviously twits) would say "Oh, that cd isn't scanning" and grab a convenient one from under the counter - THEIR fave artist - and scan that instead. So THEIR artist would get accredited with the sale, and Guy would miss out for that cd. No wonder some accreditations don't quite sit with the huge number that still sit on the shelves. I hope THAT artist isn't suffering because of those 'false fans' - eg arranging huge venues, thinking all these fans are in the area - and they don't come but the artist still has to pay for that venue.
2006
Another huge year for Guy, starting off with the Parramatta concerts (50,000 attended) - nothing of those on youtube - but we FANS have some fantastic videos  :whistling: :haha: :haha: . And Candy Shoppe the next night - where people were trying to clamber on top of those in front, to get to him.
Anyhow - also the year of "It Takes Two" and Ross Wilson's comment "One of Australia's greatest voices" (and Guy asking in an aside, "Who's that...?" :haha:
Highest Ground
Britney's Baby One More Time Guy MOVES... even at Vanguard and on the stool in the acoustic shows - he moves. And its very much appreciated :"> :whistling:
Let's Stay Together this is also on his Memphis Album. Freestyling singing with Gary Pinto (who also co-wrote TSB)
and again
Taller Stronger Better the initial performance that blew so many away. The single went Gold - despite almost NO radio play.
TV stations love him
Fernando Kate Cerbrano and Guy were the shining lights in this show. (Listen to the hum and cries in the audience when he goes to sit on the edge of the stage in the middle of the song :whistling: o:) )
can't stop a river with the young divas band, as his band was setting up in the Entertainment centre not far from there. So he had to sort of 'conduct' the band too.
2007
The Memphis Medley, after which di cko, Mark, Kyle and many others NOT there state is the best performance ANYWHERE they've ever witnessed. In reply I have to say they obviously never attended any Guy concerts. While THIS performance is an absolute gem - we do get them so often from Guy, and its the reason that so many around Australia are ready to fly ANYWHERE to get another, in case they miss out. Its the "live" magic - what you see on youtube - add another 50% for being there and witnessing it.
Saltwater Not the best audio visual, but note the fact that a Julian Lennon fan felt moved enough to come across and give support.
You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin' Just a quick snippet - but notice the huge applause before. This was at Hamer Hall or the Opera House, with the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra - GUY'S CONCERT. The only show I've ever been to where groups of people would get up and give Guy standing ovations for almost 80% of the songs. We COULD have given them for every song, but didn't want to stop the music. An amazing concert - and horrific to think it was never put on an official dvd. The only stuff we have therefore is not good audio or sound. - So thats it for 2007 from me - but there are around 20 or more. search sunrise, Basement, Vanguard, Hamer Hall, Opera House with Guy's name.
Okay, last one - after all - as I said, I get 900 offerings (prob. some put in Guys name so they get hits - like certain commercial net sites :/ :whistling: )
I Still Call Australia Home this year Australia Day. Headliner, so he was last on (which is why the jazz bit at the end, where's he's scatting. And talking about that - great Jazz version on youtube - Guy Sebastian Tim Freedman on John Foreman's own Big Night In
and for just Christmas / Holiday season
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas The hair was the least of Guy's worries at this stage, if he wasn't in the air flying overseas or back, he had gigs or recording, or tv. (The very first day of being idol he did something like 36 interviews, and the photoshoot for the Pepsi commercial at around 12 that night)

Okay, some of Guy's own songs on youtube. I've deliberately chosen these because they are his arrangements at the time of singing, and not necessarily what you will get on the albums. Guy doesn't only rearrange covers, he likes to 'go with the flow' on the night too, and his band needs to be top notch (aww you know? They love it! WHo wants to play and sing the same stuff night after night after night after night!)
I've taken out one gospel song of his, which was recorded in 2004. Probably not for here
also removing the "You'll never walk alone"
its available on "Your Song" EP on Itunes.
oh, and PS - other than Kryptonite, the others are 'different' versions than has been put on here before

adding by edit today 10 Dec. One of our forum members heard Guy on The Edge radio - and one of the questions was the "boring" bit in Confidential {quote}They asked him about the album and one of the
guys there said he had to ask him about the Confidential article re: the idol being boring...... Guy said that he never said it was boring. The journos twisted the words. He just said that some of the finalists insisted on doing their own stuff e.g someone singing Led Zepelin on Swing night (something like that). And that he has always been supportive of Idol and very obliging everytime they ask him for something.[/quote]
this is just what she could remember. But we all know how the journos twist something. ALL of us have had OUR fave artists had words put in their mouths, and we should use our commonsense accordingly.

and the one Guy did for fun, he changed the lyrics to fit in with a male singing the song (actually, had the words on an autocue because they were so 'busy' and also busy physically - and everyone stood up! So he couldn't see them anyhow. And the outfit was the LEAST "off the wall" they provided for him - and it was soooo hot! He cooked in the coat! I Wish/ Wipolo at the 2005 Grand Final at the Opera House
He'd not long come back from being World Ambassador at Uganda and Rwanda, and was right into Wipolo. Somewhere there is the thread for that. Oh, and THAT was the year of Star City - the famous 'probably have about 50 to 200 at the most there, its just a gig' type thing.
And over a 1000 came in, standing on the stairs, crouched down looking through the windows, standing on the seats in the cafeteria. LOVED it! The jetlag jam. (First time ever, that we'd heard him sing "Let's stay together" and THAT one was perfect, absolutely perfect. (No youtube vid. unfort).

And if I find something that can be indicative of 2005 I'll put it on. How strange, that? Because he really was busy. I LOVE his "Name Above All Names" for instance, but not sure that I can get it onto youtube (and if I do, it belongs to Paradise "Set me Free" album - he toured with them in Kuala Lumpur)

TV always want Guy to appear, so it gets to be a bit of a bunfight as to who has him, when. (Remember when he did "It Takes Two", and the journalist said that while he brought a great deal to the show, and added to it immensely, he just was too popular, too much a star, to have on something like that)
So we had Guy on Wednesday night on Spicks and Specks - so funny, so cute and very very nice for us Guy fans.
Thursday morning (today) he appeared on the Today Show and sang In The Midnight Hour, and they managed to squeeze in "Dock of the Bay" and I am not a massive fan of that one, in that I like a ton of other stuff more.
In the Midnight Hour and stuff
but THIS performance!!!
Dock of the Bay
His voice has grown more, its deeper, richer, and even more resonant than before, which is extraordinary. Should say, this is NOT a great audio. I have the original audio / dvd and it is EXTRAORDINARY, truly.

Some Swedish admirer (LOL at the favourite vids!) has edited and put this together. Some lovely little quick snips from "Behind Idol" which people would not have seen - unless of course one had the 13 CDS!!!! which make up the entire First Australian Idol series (which I have!!) Which reminds me - I have promised another 2 people a copy of the set but am in the middle of a 'budget' (thinking overseas travel perhaps) and so I can't buy the cds until tomorrow.

Here is a special treat for those interested.
We went to an absolutely fabulous show last night, in aid of Chaplains at schools. (Some of the stories were heartbreaking)
Huge gig (but as we were only paying a 'pittance' we were at the back tables)
so well run, the audio/visual was SUPERB! I went and congratulated those people involved later. Really - absolutely superb. Never heard better sound - ever.
And we had 5 MEGA SCREENS.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=37OFXTQ1
Guy Sebastian & Gravity
SO - Guy is a huge fan and friend of John Mayer (they are both major friends of David Ryan Harris, Guy loves writing with him)
I have never heard Guy sound better, either. He was holding notes as pure as any, and as long - with sound just streaming away. He used the whole of his range for whatever he wanted to, he sang so many songs (always more than his accredited set list - just loves and lives to sing).
I didn't take many vids because my friends are right into that. So this has been taken with my little normal camera. But as you can see, the sound was still fab.
The odd fuzzy bit is me breathing LOL! Unfortunately I had to hold the camera up in the air.
I rather suspect there will be stuff later, generally. :p
Did I say that Guy is probably about 10 times up on what he was before? Such an absolute joy to go to something like this, and find he's extended his talent and performances yet again.

THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT - thanks to Chris

While he had 5 songs in his set list, he eventually tossed in up to 13 songs, as the crowd kept yelling more, and it was all just one big jammin' night, Carl, Guy, guitars and the drum machine! All with the sparkling Sydney Harbour at night as a back drop.
And the crowd, while well heeled (a diamond encrusted elephant necklace went at auction for $61,000) Guy would have known most of them as acquaintances by now, and many would have become friends by now. He has that knack.
Enjoy !
(Oh, btw
I loaded up on youtube Black and Gold, from the Frontline fundraiser :)

I was a little caught up with things all over the weekend, so much happening :haha: - so very WET!!!! :/ :P in spite of which, so many stayed on just to see him headline the Brisbane carols. I have never been so wet, other than in a shower :haha:
CHris and Guy Sebastian

YouTube - Guy Sebastian Hervey Bay some Sound Check
just a sound check (for Taller Stronger Better)
thats a.. - but it is the reason why we try and get there for the sound checks, because in their own way, they're as good and as interesting as performances.
I only wish I'd got th Elevator Love one. As soon as he started, people started to line up as you can see. Two hours before the official start, in the boiling sun.
We HAVE got our spots 6 hours before hand, (when the audience finally mounted to the `1,000 instead of the projected 50 or so.) at Star City Casino in Sydney.
And many, MANY other places.

Hopefully Guy is now stopping all those Christmas gigs and giving his voice a rest ;)
He's been singing non-stop for around the past 6 weeks - like all the other Christmases. (And sometimes people want to get married at this time, and so he gets those too!)
I'll edit in a thread of his chats later.

for the last, Guy had a bit of hayfever at DROM in New York so he was saving his voice (he also went to Tom Hanks party later, so Im guessing he was REALLY saving his voice for better things, LOL) and so we got mainly the keyboard - because he had a new guitarist, Jack, that night.

Mish, one of the Mods on Guy's site ran this
Hey guys,
This is going to be the new thread for all of the US Street Team updates and news.
We're delighted to announce that the Street Team just got another revamp and we've made a Twitter page too so we can reach as many people across two mediums (Myspace and Twitter); so come follow us @guysebastianusa and help plug the G man and keep up to date with US news!!!
There's a new team involved in running the Street Team so it stays fresh and updated - including 2 newly appointed USA leaders (Jean and Victor) to do their thing over in the States and help make things happen.
So yeah... stay tuned peeps. Thanks for the support x.

Wish they didn't use that photo, to be honest, I wouldn't recognise him from it. Very strange. The ones being used for the US Itunes EP thats out now, or the album coming out later, are Guy.

Yep, another I've Been Loving you - but he's having such fun, and he's such a fab. pianist with a sense of humour.

see separate thread....
I should transfer some of his amaaaazing videos to this thread. There are SO many on youtube, Guy has no problems with us fans taking media.. I remember one gig last year, for radio - and as usual some jealous types get their knickers in a knot and a couple tweeted that he was 'failing' at the particular gig... However  at the same TIME!! Someone put up a couple of videos and of course they also tweeted - but videos are the way to go, with pics too if available - and it showed the dance floor covered!! With the amount of media available these days, they might as well save their breath with any lies because they're just looking sooo stupid! In fact, just a couple of weeks ago another DJ was talking about the gig and said, "Did you see me? I was first on the dance floor....!!" And Guy said how pleased he'd been with the reaction of the whole, not really expecting such a wholesale dancing moshpit.

Really disappointed - guysebastianVEVO from SONy Music Global has taken over Guy Sebastian's youtube channel and so has removed the links to the videos.
This was the ranking as on Friday
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c217/Prinia/51stplus-1.jpg
unfortunately, after today everything will just fall away to nothing because of this. Why they couldn't leave the old videos with the millions and millions of hits on there, I have no idea - now they're pretty well started anew - and many of the videos aren't even on the new VEVO channel. In fact, it looks more like a hacking job than anything else. Pretty depressing for Guy's fans.
