View Full Version : Three have never been there...

So three remaining contestants have never been in the bottom three...
Chris, Kellie, and Taylor
Why do you think this is? Biggets fan bases? Maybe each of them really has more of the 'total package' than the other contestants? Will this be our final three? How will these three handle 'Queen?' Will we see any of them take the plunge into the 'been in the bottom three' pool? Or will their fans keep them high and dry?

Chris will do really well this week. I think Kellie will struggle. I can't predict how Taylor will do. I can't picture him singing Queen songs very well, but he might surprise me.

I think Taylor can handle it. It shouldn't be a problem for Chris, either. Kellie...well, she struggles with just about everything, even country (remember suds in a bucket?), except for last night.

I'll try my best to keep Taylor high and dry - that's for sure!

Come on now - I'm 41 and don't know much of Queen's songs. Some of them (like Kellie and Paris) have probably not even heard of Queen. Next week's show should be pretty interesting! Chris will rock the house, I'm sure and so will Taylor. Don't know about the rest. We'll just have to wait and see.
Based on vocals alone, Taylor should have landed in the bottom three. His rendition of "Country Roads" was painful. Was it bad enough to end his run? Not sure, but it should have at least earned a ticket to the sweat-it-out set. Kellie isn't a top talent, but she's done well enough to stay out of the pit so far. Though I think she should have at least gotten close on the Stevie Wonder week. Chris won't end up in the bottom three on the Queen week.

These are the three that Simon picked very early on to do well in the competition.
That said- I see merit in Chris, I think Taylor is waning, and I haven't been able to justify Kellie's persistence in the competition for myself.
Like I said early on, Chris is a lock to win the entire competition. Frankly- I'm bored with him, but America isn't.

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Because he has so many fans (who VOTED, should I say) he WAS NOT in the bottom 3. I, too, wish he'd sung a more updated song, but he sang 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' very well. You probably don't know the song (or even who John Denver is), so of course, your opinion will be what it is. Out of Taylor, Chris and Kellie, IF, that's IF I'd have to predict which would be first to be put in the bottom 3 - it would be Kellie.

I think Chris, Taylor, Katharine (hopefully) and Elliott could fare well.
My question is do you think anyone is "ballsy" enough to sing We are the Champions of the world? No not Pickler, we already know she doesn't know what that means.
Ace, Bucky, Paris, and Pickled may struggle.
Freddie Mercury is probably laughing his butt off thinking about this. :D

My dad loves John Denver, so I know "Country Roads" pretty well, and I would agree that his rendition wasn't great. I don't think he sang it well at all. But I agree about Kellie. She's talented and all, but she just doesn't have that total package in my opinion. And she's kind of annoying... lol. And I think she's too much of the same stereotype as Carrie Underwood. I doubt America will pick a blonde southern belle two seasons in a row, you know?

I know very well who John Denver is. He even had a TV show for a while in the 70's IIRC. "Rocky Mountain High", "Back Home Again", "Grandma's Feather Bed", and "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" are all quite familiar. I just didn't like his rendition of the Denver song this time out. I do agree with you that Kellie should definitely be the first of those three to leave. Only reason she hasn't is the repeated "We got a hot one in the house" chants.

Kelly has had three mediocre weeks in a row. She should have been gone along time ago. Chris hasn't had a bad week yet. Taylor has only one bad (eally bad) week, that was this weeks performance. It absolutely stunk.

Yeah! I wonder what song Kathryn is going to do! Does Queen have a song that Kathryn can use her fake-sultry-with-pouting-lips thing?
I can see Taylor going crazy with this group! Chris is going to blow everyone away too! I agree that if someone can get with Kellie and tell her who Queen is and what their songs are then she might be able to pull it off. I'm nervous for her.

But I think there is a good chance they will tire of him eventually. He's talented but no one you can't see a hundred times a day fronting for some band on VH1.
As the field begins to narrow it will be interesting to see who picks up the votes of the departed. As the weeks wear on and Elliot, Buck, and Paris get the boot I see their votes swinging to Katherine and Kelly----not Chris.

Well, I know Queen & I know John Denver but hell, let's not argue about this.
My fingers are crossed for next week because I see it going either very well or very bad.
It could be a night that makes us happy again after two weeks of sheer boredom or one that makes us groan in horror at the comtestants mutilating Queen songs.
I'm not expecting much from pickler or Bucky but I hope the rest deliver. I would say that Katharine, Paris & Elliott would have a more difficult time with it but nevertheless, I still hope they can pull it off.

I just found this on MSNBC, "This week, Seacrest divided the nine remaining finalists into three groups of three, and that trio was the first to get sent to safety. No big shock there; they’re the three Simon Cowell named as his picks to be the final three singers in the competition. He’s also talked up Katharine McPhee, meaning that a full 50% of the remaining contestants can be considered his picks to win."
Sometimes I wonder if the show isn't fixed or a beauty contest instead of a talent search. ....... Kellie and Bucky have little talent and they are still there, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Well, Chris should be able to handle "Queen". Taylor should just come out swinging and show us what he's got. Kellie doesn't do that well with Country, so I don't know if she can pull this off?
I like Taylor and I am a die hard fan no matter whether or not he masters this one. One thing you must know about this fan is the I'm LOYAL, I'll keep Taylor high and dry. He has the package. One bad night would not change my vote.

I don't know, but I pulled up the list of Queen's songs (372 of them) and unless I'll remember them when I hear them, I only recognize about 4 - 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', 'We Are the Champions' and 'We Will Rock You'. Like I said before, it will be VERY INTERESTING!

To tell you the truth, I can't even name a Kellie performance that I'd say was top 3 on any given night. She's more memorable in the "mini-interview" than she's ever been on stage.

Oh, yeah! That, or Radio Ga Ga. I don't think anyone who takes this competition or himself / herself seriously would sing that.
Kellie obviously doesn't take herself seriously. She can't. She lacks the capacity to.

Yea, at the beginning - besides Taylor (he is my absolute favorite - which y'all are probably tired of hearing from me) I THOUGHT Kellie was really good, too. But..........I've stopped voting for her because of that reason - I don't think America will choose another Carrie Underwood 'look (a little) alike' country singer. TAYLOR IS THE ONE! Woo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!

I would categorize Queen as Glam Rock with a bite. Personally, I wouldn't want to sing any Queen songs because Freddie Mercury had an incredible voice and I wouldn't want my voice to be compared to his. Constantine was probably the only one so far that has done a decent job singing Queen.

Wow Rushdog, I'm impressed! That was a very good description of Queen (although I might add something about their theatrical performances). I also agree with you about the comparison to Freddie Mercury--He was unique, and you are right--Constantine did a decent job with Queen.
