Thanks a lot, nixxey. I'm not really having a bad day because of her elimination but your thoughtfulness is appreciated. :)

I can see Mandisa coming out with a Gospel album in the not too distant future. One I will own for sure. She is a class act all the way and none of her 'sweetness' is faked in the least.

But I am a tad confused. If she was the lowest vote-getter, why did we get busy signals for a long period when we were voting for her the other night???

I lost the thread that went into the viewers being manipulated. That is why she was dropped when the fans wanted her in. Or was it the fact that the voters really can't tell when a class act is in the house.

Obviously it was a conspiracy. What other possible explanation could there be?

What do you think?

I suspect the votes don't count for everything, if they even count at all.

I don't know how you were getting busy signals, but my daughter told me that her line was quite open unlike other nights, and I felt that was a bad sign. She came across as a very sincere person, no pretense. She also has a big heart. Remember how Simon hurt her feelings and she didn't dwell on that but forgave him. I was truly touched by her act of forgiveness. I think she was surprised that she was the one to leave, such a great voice and all. We don't know what God has in store for her, but she'll get her just rewards. I am comforted knowing that.

Mandisa is a wonderful talent; I will buy her CDs and would love to hear her perform. I wish they would just let the singers do what they're best at, and give them helpful advice about clothes and song choice.

For all of you Mandisa fans: think of Bo Bice, and the fact that he's an established star. Mandisa isn't going away. We'll be listening to and going to her performances for the next few decades!

One other thing that probably affected her this week. There may have been songs that would have fit her voice better, but she would not perform. Due to her views on morality, there's no way she could have done a song like "Fancy" or anything like that. And a lot of C&W music involves things like "Having Your Baby" and the honky tonk lifestyle. She'd never do a song like that. Point being, she had a limited choice of songs that she would be willing to sing.

I still think she would've been better off with something by Wynonna. Wynonna has many good clean songs to choose from (i.e. "Love can build a bridge")
