I do like her voice but not the song that she sang, and she can do what she wants, your are correct but then she suffers the consequences of viewers reactions to that and we the viewers have that right.

She may not have walked around naturally because she was singing a new song in front of hundreds of live people, dozens of cameras, and Literally MILLIONS of live viewers at home. I don't know how comfortable I'd be either! ;)

Are we the only ones with eyes? Maybe we are. Katharine was "full of herself" by needing to sing a "sultry" side of country, and didnt mind saying it on TV. She was rude when she spoke to Simon, and she was arrogant when they were about to call the bottom three. I have seen some good performances by Katharine, but Tuesday night was not one of them. It was one of the worst. I have a feeling that when she does get voted off many people will a different side of her, and I dont think it will be pretty.

I completely agree. Katherine looked as though she was indignant about the whole thing! I don't think I've ever seen her smirk like that - amost as if to hold back words. Who knows - Of course, that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.

I really don't see why more and more katherine haters keep coming out of the woodwork. I really didn't see an attitude the other night. Simon didn't like the song because he doesn't like country music, and she called him out on it. I don't find her offensive at all. She's beautiful and she has talent.

That's what I like about this contest. We all see the "good" in different people. It would be no fun if we all felt the same way.

I agree with you...it's amazing how some people seem to magnify a glance or a head shake into something monumentous...I understand why people may not like Kellie, she doesn't portray the most intelligent image of women...but I still like her...but everyone interprets through their own eyes and ears.

I personally think Katharine is drop-dead gorgeous, sweet, captivating, a good performer, gives a good effortless vocal delivery, and would make a credible AI winner.

I also like Taylor, Bucky, Chris, Kellie, and Elliot but don't really care for Ace or Paris.

Yes, I like a lot of the contestants for different reasons, although my impression of some of them has changed throughout the course of the contest.

I initially thought more highly of Ace and Paris than I do now. Ace had the AI 'look' but hasn't impressed me with his vocals (although his Michael Jackson cover was good) and Paris erroded my tolerance of her just by her annoying 'talkng' voice and demeanor.

On the other hand, Bucky, who I initially didn't like, has gradually improved in my eyes (and ears) and I've grown to like his honest character and vocal delivery on country songs.

But, while I like some more than others, none of them evoke the degree of dislike (or apparent hate) in me that I have seen expressed by others on these message boards for contestants like Katharine and Kellie.

People have different tastes, that's fine, but in Katharine's case, I just don't see what she has done to warrant the kind of vociferous and obsessive attacks that have been directed at her, usually by people who seem to begrudgingly admit she is 'pretty and has a good voice' but the underpinnings of their feelings surface when they get down to fixating on things like her head shake and they somehow extrapolate that into her being an arrogant, cold, manipulative, overbearing-mother raised bitch. The punishment doesn't fit the crime, in my Idoleyes anyway.

I agree with you, although I must admit to being a Kellie basher because I can't tolerate either of the pity me or think I'm stupid routines. But in Katharine's case I don't get it either. She has the voice and range and she does put emotion in her songs. I watch her closely because she gets so much criticism in this forum, and I don't see the arrogance others compalin about. I really believe that she is a shy person, and many times shy people are mistaken for snobbish. If I could choose the final two right now I would choose Chris and Katharine. That may change dependent on how both perform over the next few weeks, but for now that is how I see it.

I agree that Katharine has the capacity to reach the final 2 - and/or win it all. A lot will depend on the standard of performances from here on....although, in my opinion, no matter how they perform, I don't personally believe that Bucky, Ace or Paris have sufficent fan base to carry them into the top 5...so I think the top 5 will be Taylor, Katharine, Chris, Kellie and Elliot.

Elliot is more talented than Kellie, but unless he dramatically improves on his ability to emotionally connect with a larger segment of the audience, I fear he will be going home sooner than his talent should dictate.

Kellie will be around for a while longer - she just seems to have a lot of support - but I don't think she'll reach top 3 - although I hear Simon predicted she'd be top 3...and it could happen if the fomer Bucky supporters get behind Kellie...

Chris, is also very popular , but at some point I think his excellent - but arguably one-dimensional - style will start to reflect in the voting since I don't see the (presumably departed) Bucky, Ace and Paris (and potentially 2 more departed contestants) fans throwing their support behind a hard-edge singer like Chris.

Taylor, who seems to have a strong and loyal fan base (and some critics too), is in danger once we get into the final 5 - unless he gets back to the uninhibited style that made him appealing (to me) earlier in the show.

Anyway it's all speculation, but it's fun...I personally see a Katharine and Taylor final at this point...we'll see if that changes...and with Queen on deck, there is potential for some very bizzare performances....Chris should excel...the rest are hunting for inspiration I suspect.

Suddenly I am hearing everyone say that Katharine may be shy. I don't think she's shy. I just think she's a very self-conscious person. In fact, she looks like an intelligent girl with ADD.

Everyone just interprets Katharine's headshake based on how they already view her. If they think she's arrogant, then it was an arrogant headshake because she deserves to be in the bottom three anyway. If they like her, then it could mean any number of things, excluding arrogance. Personally, I'd guess she was saying: "No, not again!" But she was obviously having fun that night - that's cool. Ace acted the same the week after his first trip to the bottom three. He was all happy and smiling. I think they were just happy to have made it a week out of the bottom three.

As for McPhee's supposed arrogance, I recommend to you http://www.peishamcphee.com ... and read the interview articles about her. Oh, I'd so much prefer to be a person who exudes confidence than myself who has none at all!

Another student takes the stage and automatically says something self-depreciating. McPhee quickly reminds him that in the world of cabaret, a little narcissism goes a long way: "Instead of saying 'I'm going to sing something that I think you may not like,' tutors McPhee. "How about saying: 'I'm going to sing something that I know you will love'."

I am starting to agree with you on katherine. I thought she was going to go pretty far, but do you remember the first time she was in the bottom 3? She looked like she was sooo surprised and that the votes were wrong. She couldn't possibly have made the bottom 3. I seen that and my opinion of her changed. However, I do think she has a great voice and I am thinking she is gonna be in the top 3. She should definitley change her attitude though.

Kat is an enigma, but Ciuma was just comparing sometimes Kat's abrupt, and sometimes cheeky percieved comments as if they came from a person with ADD.-_^

Of course Kat doesn't have ADD...but it just shows how silly she can be, and sometimes "Forced"to the public.
