Am I the only one who is not feeling Katharine?

I am getting so mad that everyone is up her ass. She isn't that good of a performer. She can sing, but she is not a star. I'm waiting for her to actually bring it, but she doesn't, she gets there but it just stops. The reason she was in the bottom three and won't win this competition because there's nothing special about her. Say what you want about Mandisa, Paris, or Chris, they shut the competition down everytime. Actually singing out, and putting on a show, these are the three that have it and Elliot. Kelly Clarkson would shut down Katharine if she was on this season. Hell Fantasia, Clay, maybe Ruben would shut down Katharine if they were on. Not Carrie because Katharine and Carrie are just alike. People, I'm just saying to look out for people who can sing, put on a show, and actually show some emotion when they sing and Katharine has never once done this.

I find Katharine phony. She said in an interview that she learned from Constantine last year that she needed to have that sultry, sexy look when she looked into the cameras. She has talent, but her whole persona puts me off.

This season's contestants are all bunched up. There are no clear frontrunners. However, when the numbers are down to five, there should be some crystal-clear indications of who's pulling ahead.
While Katharine is not as popular as Carrie Underwood at this stage of the competition last year, she does have what it takes to move all the way to the front.
American TV viewers are no fools. When it comes down to the crunch, they want the best person to win. It doesn't matter if Chris, Taylor, or Katharine dress well or smile widely.
Ultimately, it's the voice, the emotion, the passion and the love for music. These will all show in your face, your gait and the way you put yourself out there, in front of everybody, coast to coast. There's nothing but having fun, singing great and loving every minute of it.

Hey, Bigd, sorry you think that way, but Katharine's got the total package. The vocals, the looks, the confidence. Although I think Chris will win it, she's up there at the Top 3 with Chris and either Elliot or Paris/Taylor (if Taylor's that popular).

Katharine looks like a BIG fake. She looks like a black widow spider trying to lore in its bait. She is always putting on these big puppy eyes and trying to be all sexy. And she has this overwhelming persona of arrogance that comes out every week. It wasn't until this week when she performed after Kellie that I realized she is a big girl, not in a bad way, she is just is. But, she can sing and her voice is pleasant enough, it wouldn't bother me if she made it to the bottom three, but if she won it, I wouldn't purchase a pencil with her name on it.

I don't think she has the performing experience of Chris, another person I like, or Taylor (sorry Taylor, not so crazy about you) but I do agree with you that Kellie is pickled! I am concerned that if she won, AI would become a contest of hard luck stories, not undiscovered music talent.

Real people like me are not into Katharine and people like you who is probably into Katharine because she just has a nice voice and is the prettiest out of the girls. All Katharine has is a nice voice. I'm just tired of people praising her like her performances are memorable. Chris's performances are memorable, Paris's performances are memorable, hers are not. If she does really become as big as Kelly Clarkson or Fantasia, do you think she can even compete with them, hell no, especially not Kelly. You are just into the fact, that her voice is okay, but she shows no emotion when she sings. Mandisa and Paris killed her when it came to performing. Paris is the best girl left, if a guy doesn't win this season, than Paris should win because Paris sings her heart out when she's performing, has Katharine done that yet, hell no and she probably never will. If Katharine wasn't as pretty as she is, would you really be all over her, hell no. The reason I talk about her so much is because people think she is the top vocalist, but she was never better than Mandisa and if she was on a different season of American Idol, she would have not been in the same league as the other contestants.

Real people like me are not into Katharine and people like you who is probably into Katharine because she just has a nice voice and is the prettiest out of the girls. Okay, okay, let's ease up a bit on implying things about others. Because people don't share the same view as you, doesn't mean they're not 'real people like you.'

All Katharine has is a nice voice.Yes she does have a nice voice, something we can agree on. I think most people would agree. She is never pitchy, she has good clarity, good range and good control over the tone. Where we disagree is the statement that a nice voice is all she has. I see much more than that. I see an abundance of confidence when she sings. I see her being comfortable, poised, and commanding. The control of her voice appears to come easily and naturally. And, yes, I believe she's got the visual package too (which I believe you addressed in the first quote above, so you do seem to agree with me when I disagree with your quote directly above).

I'm just tired of people praising her like her performances are memorable.That's totally okay, but maybe for some people, they are memorable, so they certainly have the right to praise her for it. To tell you the truth, I get sick to my stomach every time I see another 'Ace is so hot' posting. But that's no reason for me to rant on people about it. Doing so is not going to change their opinion. It's the type of opinion you couldn't change anyways. If they were to say 'Ace is the best contestant,' I'd be all over that one with things like, 'I disagree... he has consistently had problems with pitch, he's had problems with the tempo of some songs, and his nerves always seem to get the best of him.' And providing even more specific examples only supports that.

My saying 'You're only all up his schnarzel because you think he's hot, but he's not, and he'll never make it,' does nothing to support my opinion that he's not the best contestant. It's difficult to support that position for four reasons: 1) I'm implying that the person has a particular opinion (maybe the person does, but maybe they don't... this is where the defensive wall goes up); 2) I'm changing the topic of the position from 'best contestant' to 'hot or not'; 3) I'm supporting my statement with only my opinion, as opposed to clear evidentiary fact; and 4) I'm predicting something that cannot be predicted, or affected, by me or my opinioins alone.

I guess the point is, you can't change someone's mind, or make them see things the way you do, if they feel you're disparaging them because of their opinions. And there are some opinions you just can't change anyways. But if you want someone to see things your way, give them a reason to, and give them a more inviting avenue.

Chris's performances are memorable.I certainly agree with that. He has everything it takes to win. And tons of experience to boot.

If Katharine wasn't as pretty as she is, would you really be all over her, hell no.I don't find Elliott or Taylor attractive, but I think they have enough talent to win this competition, and I would defend that position as strongly as I would defend my position on Katharine.
