What is the opinion out there? My companion told me he is not going to watch anymore. Maybe I can convince him. There were some conflicts with the judges and Ryan, and he said he is convinced there is a flask!

I thought it was boring. Probably because I only knew two songs. Taylor's and Paris's. When it comes to country, I only listen to "Classic Country". I don't really care for the newer stuff.

I had high hopes for tonight's theme. They really let me down overall. Some did pretty good but the song selection was poor. Its really hard to compete with a song I just listened to on the radio, where was the old school? They could have rocked the house down tonight, instead I just wiggled my foot a few times.

Kellie and Bucky were okay...but I thought those 2 would be better in the Country Catagory.

Katherine, Elliot and ACE were the top 3 tonight.

I thought, Bucky, Ace and I did like the song Taylor sang, I did not like the song katherine sang nor her dramatics on stage, it was not natural. I like Elliot and he is still learning poor fella.

Katherine wants to show everyone that she's a "bad girl" and she's not gonna take it anymore.

I thought tonight's show was going to be really good.. so many good song choices that they could have picked, but didn't.

Mandissa should have song Mississippi Girl by Faith Hill
Kellie should have song Gretchen Wilson's song Red Neck Woman
Katherine could have song anything by Dolly Parton
Paris should have tried Shania Twain

Well, I find country boring in the first place, so I was just looking out for good performances.

The only ones who stood out for me tonight were Mandisa, Chris & Ace.

The rest were pretty boring, although kellie surprised me a bit. She was actually not that bad tonight but no, I don't like her anymore than I already don't.

Other than that, it was one big yawn.

I agree, last night's show was boring again...for the third week in a row. Taylor was not himself, in fact, he sucked. Mandisa wasn't very good either. I was surprised that Bucky and Kellie didn't do better in their field. Kelly can not hit the lower range notes AT ALL.

Elliot was quite impressive, his vocals are so smoothe. I do not like Chris; however, he did a nice job with his song. I thougt he was pigeonholed into the rock genre, however, he did show me something in yesterdays show.

I have to honestly say that I felt robbed an important hour of my life after watching that show last night. It was bad, bad bad. I admit that I can't stand country music, but out of 10 I'd have to give last night's show a very low "2".

- Performances were unremarkable top to bottom.

- Taylor had the worst performance of his entire stay here on AI5.

- Paris picked an excellent song but keeps mumbling her words.

- Mandisa was at her worst, which is sad because I'm a pretty big fan of hers.

- Kellie performed well, but even in her strength I wouldn't classify it as a solid performance.

- Bucky had the whole WORLD in his lap and made me want to go out and clean mudflaps instead of listen to his remarkably poor song choice.

- All the men sang ballads. BORING. Despite decent performances by Ace and Chris- I would have rather watched the TV Guide channel for an hour.

- Katharine did an excellent job, but her "standout" performance was worse than her worst performance on the show thus far. Blehh...

- Elliot did a good job, but again, unmemorable.

Kenny Rogers? Big star, but vocal coach? I exhibit more vocal range in these last three sentences than he does in his entire body of work. Telling Elliot he "oversings" just proves how boring and bland Kenny wanted them all to keep it.

If this was your first time watching American Idol, I'm afraid it would have been your last.

Having Kenny Rogers for a vocal coach, is like going to McDonald's for a diet.

so with next weeks theme being Queen, who will be the guest judge?
Ordinarily it would be the vocalist, but with Freddie no more, and Paul Rodgers, not really what Queen is about it set me wondering...

Oh, man...spot on.

The only reason they had him as a vocal coach is that he has an album coming out & wants to try & resurrect his long-dead career. The two previous vocal coaches also have new albums coming out, although Stevie Wonder as a vocal coach is something I cannot contest.

Kenny rogers a country superstar? Someone get me in touch with Clive Davis, I'm gonna cut my debut album tomorrow.

Agree the show was boring, and I think Kenny had a LOT to do with that. As far as C&W music, his songs were typically about as exciting as listening to paint dry. Here's a guy who built an entire career on one song, "The Gambler" (for goodness sake, they even did a made for TV movie around it). Given the supremely poor choice of coaches, plus the lack of familiarity with the musical genre of most of the contestants, it's no wonder the show was bad. I don't think Kenny pointed the people toward songs that played to the performers strengths. And since the majority of the contestants weren't familiar with the music, they didn't know enough to keep looking for something better. Another show like this one and I may have seen my last AI.
