Who will twang it up tonight? I'm very much looking forward to tonight's show... country music is toward the top of my list.

Who will shine tonight?

It's a given that Bucky and the Blonde ditz should do well.
I can't imagine how Ace, Mandisa, Paris, and Chris will do. My suprise for tonight, based only on a feeling, would be Elliott shining.

For me, song selection is the most important aspect of tonight's competition. I mean it all starts with this. Most contestants will have a tough time with the theme, because they aren't as familiar with the genre. This, in and of itself, will severely limit their choices. I know I sound as if they still have yet to pick the songs, and obviously they're all past this stage, but they only had a short time to select a song, because they have to spend most of their time learning it, arranging it, and rehearsing it, maybe even thinking about the coreography.

We already know who can REALLY sing, and most of us already have formed our opinions of all of the contestants. The only thing we really have left is the surprise of how well each song fits each contestant.

Take Kellie, last week. She stayed in her comfort zone of country music, but the song selection was terrible. Another one like that and I'm going to have to edit my fantasy picks after the show (to drop her, from 2nd to last, to last).

Katharine and Mandisa will do well. They can both sing just about anything (except for maybe the stuff Chris sings). And Katharine will be bouncing back from the bottom three with a vengence. Chris will mellow out from last week and likely give a solid, but still edgy, performance. Taylor will have no problems, as blues and country are rather tightly knit in their roots. Paris needs to avoid the older female country legends (or Simon will eat her lunch). She needs to do something from LeAnne Rimes or Miranda Lambert (but leave the Beyoncesque moves in her hotel room). Elliot and Ace will have the toughest time. Elliott is getting better and his confidence is growing. He, in my opinion, will be the most interesting one to watch tonight. Ace should think about requesting a shot of morphine to calm his nerves before taking the stage. Anything other than an elimination-worthy performance by him will truly surprise me tonight (sorry Ace fans). I'm not saying he can't sing, I believe he can, he just has trouble with the performance portion of his performances.

I think ACE will crap out tonight.

Elliot might suck too.

I thought song selection was poor tonight. 70 years of music and most of them didnt pick good songs. They busted my bubble tonight.

I was highly disappointed in tonight's show. Especially with Taylor, and Bucky. Country Road? Come on! I had no idea what Bucky was singing. Someone needs to help these guys pick songs. Kellie and Paris did well. Mandisa and Ace sucked. Why does Mandisa insist on wearing jeans? That outfit was horrible.

Ace did really well - Paris is going home!

I think Mandisa could be the one biting the bullet tonight. She performed that poorly. If people voted by overall poor performances it should be Bucky or Ace. But Ace was good last night. If Katherine is in the bottom three again after last night's sizzling performance I am really going to start saying the results are fixed--until the producers of the show start giving numbers.
