man, what a negative message... yeah it bites that Blake didnt get it but it doenst mean you should act that negative about it

Regardless or whether Blake won or lost, this finale show wasn't about who won this season's competition, it was about the American Idol franchise. Although it was apparent in the last two season finales that Kerry/Bo & Taylor/Katharine were utterly exhausted from preparing for the end, tonight's show couldn't have been more self-congratulatory. I'm afraid that the money machine has gotten too big, & the industry is embracing American Idol as a very public vehicle to anoint who is going to peddle their product next.

We now haul out Chris Daughtry & Jennifer Hudson to point out that the franchise so powerful now that it isn't merely the appointed winner who goes on & does well in the industry. American Idol is all & sees all.

Although it might be giggly fun to give trophies to Kenneth (bush baby) & Jonathon, & have Crying Girl in the same seat for Sanjaya to flirt with again, this is exploitive. American Idol knows that it is alright to use people because we laugh at the exploitation & exploitation is good for ratings & advertizing rates.

So our little singing competition is all grown up now into more than merely a circus. It is hungry, & we must feed the machine. Yeah, American Idol has indeed jumped the shark.
