No doubt Jordin will win, but it really is too bad that it is because of the last song of a full season. That song is so obviously a young females song - not a funky, unique male's with a style all his own. As Simon says, it should be for more than just one song, but the song was such a mismatch that people cannot overlook it. Too bad.
I'm one of Melinda's biggest fans, and I'm not sure even she could of pulled that one off. Then again, why would she want to?
Even Simon said Jordin should not have been in the final after last week's performance. And she blows at least on of this week's songs....and she's the next American Idol??? How pathetic!!!!

I'm rewatching Blake sing it, and you're right, Melinda could have done it, but as I said why would she want to?
The reason I'm rewatching it is because my husband was out, and just came back and we're watching it again (thank goodness for timeshift). Anyways, he just said "...this song sucks". Truer words were never said.
Listening to the judges all commenting on how the song mismatches Blake's style shows how wrong this process has been. This Is My Now is anything but a stellar (word of the night) song,
and now poor Blake is paying the price for it.
My one consolation is that I know that he will be a far greater artistic success than Jordin will be, and that's despite everything the show tried to do to promote her at the expense of other better performers.

Season 2 they had different winners songs too. Clays was This is the Night.. can't remember what Ruebens was, but it wasn't the same as Clays.

That's too bad if it was planned that way. Anyway, I think Jordin is the better singer while Blake is the better performer. It was the same with Kat and Taylor. I think Jordin will win because she has more fans than Blake. Taylor won because his fan base was huge. Last year Taylor's lines were busy the whole 4 hours. Unlike Melinda's fans, his fans many of whom were women over 30 yrs. voted for him like crazy. Plus Taylor had this attraction seeing he is so handsome and personable. That added more votes for him.:)

Well they wrote the songs before they knew who would be in the finals...we the public voted on our favorites of those submitted and I think they should have taken the top 2 one for Blake and one for Jordin...:rolleyes:
