Now this guy must be using a OUIJI Board for his next try at staying alive.
He will have to use his Mafioso connections or Pagan Rituals to survive the next round.

This guy getting this far is one of the most stunning things I have seen on AI.
Well, actually Chris R. making the top 12 was more stunning.
You could argue (easily) that besides Sanjaya...Blake had the worse voice of anyone in the top 12.
But I guess it doesn't take much to get 18 and under girls all hot and bothered.

I agree he does not have the vocals and he does not know how to dress but he sure is cute and he has the personality and is unique in every way. That is why he is still there.

I don't think Blake has a bad voice. I'm just not keen on hearing beatboxing in every song. I would like to see him sing straight for once.

I think he may do that next week unless he feels like beat boxing is what is getting him the votes...

Chris had limited vocals and no style. He has no business in the top 6 or 12.
Blake has limed vocals but great originality and style;
while the Jordin/Melinda/Lakisha clones all espouse the same R&B to gospel bent, with little if any originality or style.
If Blake nails his versions next week, I wouldn't be suprised to see Melinda muttering to herself like Lakisha did this week, with Seacrest sending her "out".
If Blake performs like he did this week, hes a goner.

Well all the oldtimers and septagenarians watching are voting for Melinda. When they extend the voting to more lines and more hours, the younger crowd will overwhelm the elderly voters as nap time, medications breaks, finger arthritis, and depends undergarment changes will cause the old folks to fade.
It just may be that Jordin and Melinda have to split their common fan base while Blake surges past.
If Blake kicks some butt next week, Ryan may be delivering the "Daughtry" letter to Melinda or Jordin, giving him the shocking newsline he has refered to in the past.

I don't see that happening with Lakisha's exit her fans will be voting for Melinda or Jordin....either way Blakey boy will be gone....

Yar, I doubt any Lakisha fans would turn to Blake. Maybe some of Chris R's fans have turned to Blake though!

He did sing straight several times after the judges told him to cut back on the beatbox - remember country week and Imagine? Neither won him rave reviews, so he went back to what he's good at, and what makes him original in this contest. Give him credit for recognizing his strengths.

Yeah, I thought he'd have gotten all of Chris' votes. If so, how did he end up in the bottom two? Which begs a good question...was he actually bottom two? Ryan told people they were safe, but he never really said who were top two and he didn't say that Blake and Melinda were bottom two? So were they, or was this just for suspense because Simon said he feared for both of them the night before?
If he got Chris' votes shouldn't he have been higher? Also, DialIdol predicted that he was #1 in voting this week - was he really bottom two?

I could not agree with you more
It was never confirmed that Blake was in the bottom two last week, just that Lakisha was going home.
I don't hate Blake, don't like him either. It just floors me that of (how many?) thousands of male singers that auditioned for AI this year, that Blake is considered the best of all of them.
How can this be? I know lots of guys who sing rings around him, and I don't believe he's the best male AI heard this year.

It's not that Blake is the best, but what makes him stand out is the way he makes each song his own, whether it be through beatboxing, or whatever. He's very well prepared, and is very unique. People look forward to what he is going to do each week. None of the guys this year were really that great as far their singing. Jared was pretty decent, but didn't really stand out. Blake is the only guy who stood out. All the other guys were just kinda there. Nothing to write home about.

Did you just get here? This isn't a singing contest, it is a popularity contest. The American people, many of whom are completely ignorant of what makes a singer good, determine the outcome of this contest. They vote for who they like, which has to do with performance and style as well as singing. Taylor won last year, and he was NOT the best singer, but he had LOTS of personality. Personaly, I hate him from the very depths of my soul, cannot stand his voice, but I get why he won.
I get why Blake is still here, too.
