Anyone know what this week's theme is? My TiVo cut it off just before he said last week what it would be.
Bee Gees. Barry Gibb is the mentor.
I can see by the way you take that pill
You're about to sign your final will

Actually they are very well respected songwriters it doesn't have to be disco...
Yeah. Didn't they write a lot of movie tunes? IIRC, they had been writing music for years before they ever put out their first album..........

Actually, they weren't really that good before they went Disco. Kind of a boring, really. I remember when I was 10, my mom bought me a Bee Gees album. I was excited because I thought it had their Disco hits that were on the radio. It turned out, it was all their crap from the '60's. I was like, "This sucks!" I was so bummed. She bought it for like $.50 in one of the cut-out bins.

This is all I have found so far about their songwriting........
Songs written by Gibb have also been recorded by well over 2,500 other artists. He wrote and produced albums which sold millions for other acts during the 1970s and 1980s, including his younger brother Andy Gibb, Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Jimmy Ruffin (writer only) and Swedish singer Carola (writer only).
Films Barry has wrote music for.......
Filmography
Barbra Streisand: Timeless - Live in Concert (1999)
Roy Orbison: The Anthology (1999)
Cadillac Man (1990)
Hawks (1989)
Barry Gibb: Now Voyager (1984)
Grease (1978)
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978)
Saturday Night Fever (1978)

Would be great to hear "Nights on Broadway." Alot of their songs are pretty heavy on harmony, so that will help out the weaker singers (like Blake and Jordin)--having some backup support.

That's one of my favorite songs. Constantine did it a couple of years ago. I thought he did okay, but I remember being disappointed in his performance.
