American Idol’s Simon Cowell Predicts Final Three

American Idol judge Simon Cowell predicted the names of the final three in this season of the show: Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks and Kellie Pickler. Cowell stated this for the Fox TV (http://www.playfuls.com/fun/#) talent competition during a Thursday telephone conversation broadcast on Howard Stern`s Sirius satellite radio (http://www.playfuls.com/fun/#) show, the New York Post reported Friday.

Let me tell you who`s gonna be in the finals, Cowell said. The bald-headed kid (Daughtry) and the guy with gray hair (Hicks). A few minutes later, he added, I think the top three will be the two I mentioned and Kellie Pickler.

Cowell was also right in his predictions last year, when he said Carrie Underwood (http://www.playfuls.com/fun/#) would win the contest, the newspaper noted.

Cowell also appeared on Larry King (http://www.playfuls.com/fun/#) Live on Friday, March 17 and talked about American Idol and American Inventor. While talking to the host he commented that his judging job was the most fun job in the world and said the show had launched two, maybe three careers, without mentioning which careers he was referring to.

After giving his opinion on the potential winners of this season, Cowell was asked by a caller whether his statements influenced the voters or not. He replied that it does, but Only if they’re good, you know, when somebody’s bad it doesn’t matter what you say, it’s not going to make any difference.

The American Idol judge also gave more details on his statement about preferring Kellie Pickler over Carrie Underwood. He justified it by saying: I tend to say things very much in the heat of the moment, which normally gets me into a lot of trouble on the show. Carrie had been on I think the week before, and I just really liked Kellie that night, I just thought she was a bit more feisty, a bit more energetic, so I was kind of saying what I was thinking, and then I might change my mind the following week.

That was my top 3 also a few weeks ago but unless Kelly does better...I'm leaning more toward someone else now.

Thanks!!

SNARKY Simon Cowell made his picks for the three top finalists of this season's "American Idol" yesterday.

Chris Daughtry, 26, Taylor Hicks, 29, and Kellie Pickler, 19, will be the final three singers vying for the top prize in May, Cowell said during a call-in to Howard Stern's Sirius satellite radio show.

"Let me tell you who's gonna be in the finals," Cowell said. "The bald-headed kid [Daughtry] and the guy with gray hair [Hicks]."

A few minutes later, he added: "I think the top three will be the two I mentioned and Kellie Pickler."

The blunt-spoken record executive-turned-TV star - who over the years has proven that his opinions and criticism of the talent show's contestants are generally dead-on - holds tremendous sway with the viewers, who vote each week and eventually choose the winner.

Simon has rarely been too far off when he goes out on a limb to make predictions. Last year around this time, he correctly told last year's winner, Carrie Underwood, that she would be the champ, although Cowell might have overstated her ability to sell records.

This was in the New York Post on line. So if Frank's right in his thinking that AI has already chosen a winner, here they are....
