Tonight's show was weird. It seemed that everyone's performance was just off somehow. Of the ten who sang, I would have to say that the standouts seemed to have been Katharine, Taylor, and Mandisa. OBTW I love gospel music so Mandisa was a lock for me tonight. Chris is my favorite though. I'm an old baby boomer rocker at heart, his performance was not that good. I am a big fan of Creeds'(R.I.P.) but Chris would have been better suited to maybe Creeds' song like "My Sacrifice". There was something very creepy about Paris's performance tonight. She looked like a little baby girl trying to act like woman with some of those dance moves...(Booty Shake). Bucky needs to go. He is way over matched in this competition. Bucky butchered Tim McGraw. Well anyway, to sum up my past criticisms, these can't be the Best ten performers Fox could throw at us.Tonight's show rates a double Triumph "For Me To Poop On"!!!!!!! :cool_shad

I agree that this wasnt the best show. However, even though I dont think Bucky is the best singer, I thought tonights performance was HIS best. I love gospel music and thought Mandisa was very good. She knows that most american's will bash her and did it anyway. If simon "didnt get" her song choice, then perhaps he goesnt "get God" and many don't, But I do. My hat goes off to you Mandisa! That being said....she's not my favorite contestant, only my favorite female.

Cloie, I get the Vibe that you are a Christian. As far as Simon "Getting God", that isn't likely. Parable of the Rich Man.....and all. You are right about Mandisa though, she will most likely take a beating in th press for singing a Gospel song. It's too bad that things like that happen.:angel2

I think Chris could have done much better with a different song but that being said i know he gets my vote and he will sail through to the next round. Chris is the best american idol contestant as far as im concerned. And Bucky! Man do I hope hes the one to go next!

I wonder what we would say if Mandesa was an outspoken Muslim or Scientologist? If she sang an atheistic song, would we be up in arms? What is it about Jesus that makes us uncomfortable?

so it's not religion, is it... it is this particular one?

Most people are ok with a God, and He probably claims to be God...

Odd to me, that's all.

you would have thought that last nights performances would have been great. they had six years of songs to choose from. for me paris, katharine and taylor stood out. you are right frank, chris should have chose a song like "my sacrifice". it would have been so much better.

I agree with everyone that show last night was not great at all. BUT I think Bucky done a good job with Tim McGraw, if anyone listens to country they know he done well, not great but well. I'll be surprised if he goes home tonight after that performance country is his thing. As for Chris I like Chris but last night it was almost scary the way he acted, sorry but I'm not a Creed fan, I'm from the south country is my thing, but I can listen to about anything but I didn't like Chris performance last night. As for Kellie what was she thinking. I think Lisa should be a little worried tonight, doing a Kelly Clarkson song I think was a big mistake.
Mandisa, I thought it was great for her to do a gospel, lots and lots of people listen to gospel music, and you don't hear gospel on American Idol so I think people will really remember her for that. Tonight is going to be interesting on results night, because no one done really really well, so everyone should be a little worried.

Of coarce I do, But the conversation was about the Lord, that's why I said it that way. But just so you dont split hairs. I love everyone. Maybe not every action, but everyone. Maybe by that statement those who dont know the Lord can ask.
