I cried through most of it but it was awesome! I see Simon in a new light and even Ryan. Ryan was very tender hearted with the children. Parts of the African video clips were very hard to watch. Carrie Underwood's video clip was very touching too. I loved Jack Black and the jokes regarding Sanjaya were a hoot! That was a very moving show tonight. Thank god these rich movie stars and singers are doing something to bring help and aid to these poor children. These movie stars/singers bring this reality home to us and it is up to us to help out these poor kids! Regardless, it was a awesome, awesome show!

I loved the show tonight! It was GREAT! I, too, cried a few times. Ditto to everything you said about it plus - I liked the Simpson's Idol audition with Simon auditioning. That was cute and I think he liked it, too. Kelly Clarkson's song was absolutely beautiful! I feel so sorry for all those orphaned children. The 12 yr. old brother who lives alone with his younger sister. Can you imagine that? I could go on and on, but it's so depressing. No need for me to mention EVERYTHING again - after seeing it, but they need our prayers.
We need to count our many blessings - name them one by one...

Yea, that was pretty cute the Simpson's bit! That was a very classy show tonight! Gwenyth Peltrow sure looks great! I loved it when Ellen said she challenged rich people to match her donation and then she said she knows rich people watch the show because she watches it with them lol!

Kelly Clarkson should sing more soulful music! I thought she was really good tonight. It's like i heard her voice for the first time.

You must have missed the final show last year.
I jumped into AI in Season 2 and to be honest have never really heard Kelly Clarkson much. OMG she sang impeccably tonite. Channeling Janis and a few other soulful singers but absolutely nailing that song in her own way. Three cheers to her and the superb pickin' by Beck. And odd couple at first but it worked. Best performance of the night by light years.

My favorite was the Elvis and Celine Dion Duet, and the Jack Black performance.

Hearing Carrie and Kelli legitimizes AI. They were both great, in very different ways. Clarkson is really amazing!
But, you did get it right when you said she was channeling Janis. I think that's a nice way of saying it looked like she rummaged through some of Janis's old dresses to pick her outfit! Didn't think it was very flattering at all.

It really was a great show, Eileena in Canada !
Hope all is well, way up North !
AI could become a separate entity. Purchase there very on channel so you could view AI and related stories All Day Long. Movies, News, AI sitcoms, Reality Shows, [all starring the contestants] Theme parks, Restaurants etc. It would top the entire entertainment industry.
I bet these ideas are already on the table.

They did a great job on the show. It is good that they are using the voting from the other night but they should have said who was leading and who was in trouble so thier fans can help them out next week.

Well with 4 hours of voting, and extra heavy voting because of the charity thing, it would be nearly impossible for anyone to make up any ground. Pretty much the bottom two this week are gone next week.

I agree, this was one of the best Idol shows. It had a lot of substance.

I was disappointed!! It would have been better with more songs of hope and less talk.....just my opinion.

I think Jordin is by far the best -- I thought it was very RUDE to "scare" her with the whole voting deal -- I think it's fine they didn't kick anyone off on this type of fundraising show but they should have put all the contestants at ease from the very beginning so they could have enjoyed it more...
I do really like the idea that 1/2 of the money raised last night will stay in USA. We do have lots of people here that need help too!

I agree. I thought that was very cruel of them to do that to her.

Well, if you looked at, and heard the audience, I wasn't the only one. I think if she would've been actually voted off, there would've been a riot.
But, I did feel bad for her when she was crying. I wanted to give her big hug. LOL

I appreciate your expression, and sincerely AGREE ! When Jordan was left standing, my pulse increased. Jordin had to be near fainting. And you could see the dismay in her expression.
That wasn't nice.

The Elvis bit was excellent too! Seeing that made me miss Elvis all over again. It put a lump in my throat as sappy as that sounds. Celine looked and sounded great! I am not a fan of hers but she did that number very classy! IMO
If anyone knows how to find that Elvis clip pls advise.

Yeah, that was the highlight of the show for me.
That's always been one of my favorite songs of his. The original clip is actually from the '68 Comeback Special. The song closed out the show.
Like you, I've never really gotten into Celine Dion before, but I really loved her performance, and she did look great.

Maybe they think Jordin needs to feel the fear of being in the bottom 3 because they know there is even more talent in her and want to see her really express it. Either that or they want her to excel beyond Melinda so that it really puts her in first place as the front runner? Maybe they want her to win?
I want Melinda to win!!!

To utilize "The Shock Factor" in its entirety, you would want to use your most prized possession [most precious gem]. Only reaffirms, Jordin is AI's most precious gem.

I love Melinda. You can tell she has great character, wonderful personality. Putting it bluntly, she harbors Christian values, it shows in her disposition.
However to compete with Jordin, she'll have to come out of her comfort zone. End on the big high note and sustain, is what I'm saying. Then the game will be back on.
I believe Phil has found that secret the past 3 weeks, which has and will help him.
Jordin could never "win" vocally over Melinda--Not by my standards....Melinda is Pitch Perfect and for me personally that is HUGE because it is REALLY rare. Jordin will need to rely on her Youth factor--which is pretty strong for her. But Melinda's confidence on stage is just as big!!

I enjoyed the show last night. I hope they raise alot of money. Glad to hear they will be helping people here in the U.S. as well as other parts of the world. Was also happy to see that Jordin didn't get the boot.
Eileenacanadian you wanted to know where you could get the Elvis preformance. I have it on CD. I just put it in my computer to make sure it's the one from last night and it is. If you want it you may have it for the price of mailing it to Canada.
