View Full Version : Idol Gives Back. Name of Kentucky town?
During the show this evening a video clip from a town in Kentucky was shown. Does anyone know what the name of the town was?

All they said was Eastern Kentucky and the Elementary School was Beckam Bates (sp) On the bus the County starts with an L. But that is all they mentioned. But you should be able to get some info.

Dont' know if that's the right one or not.

It's Letcher County, Kentucky. It is Beckham Bates in Whitesburg.

By showcasing places in Kentucky and New Orleans, it makes the public and the world aware that it's not only Third World countries that have people suffering from poverty and hunger, but right here in America's rural and urban communities. It's fine that Simon et al, are concentrating on Africa, because he would have been criticized for neglecting the the plight of millions right here in the US. After all he's making millions of US dollars.
